What better way to welcome Spring then by celebrating the Easter and Passover Holidays at the beginning of April, followed shortly

The Lakeside Grille & Bar continues to remain busy as always and plans are underway for the ever-popular International Food & Wine Festival during the summer months, in addition we will continue to update our weekly themed evenings and please stay tuned for the many fun Social activities that we have in store for you! The Wine Dinner Series is back for its 6th consecutive year, and hold onto your wineglasses as this will be an unprecedented year, starting off on Thursday, April 26th with the award-winning St. Supery Vineyards of Napa Valley.

While the March Nor’easters have done much damage and left much debris, our clean-up efforts have been continuous and relentless. The golf course, while shedding its winter coat away, is primed and in peak shape for yet another stellar golfing season at the Club. Preparations are already underway in getting the pool and café facilities ready, the dock will be back in the water with our ever-popular kayaks being ready for rentals as of end of May. In addition, back by overwhelming demand, will be our Tiki Bar on the beach and the Friday night Happy Hour on the Beach – yes – the Palm trees will be back! What better way to unwind after a long week then to wiggle your toes in the sand, resting by a palm tree and enjoy-

Happy Spring Time! I am thrilled the spring is upon us and looking forward to much nicer weather. So, let’s all get ready to have a great Spring and enjoy our wonderful Club and everything it has to offer.

We have some great events to look forward to in the upcoming months. As always, our social calendar is packed with many exciting events beginning with our popular Wine Tasting Series on April 26th. So don’t forget to make your reservation in advance as we do sell out very quickly!!!

Memorial Day Weekend is always a busy time at the Club and this year will be no different. As we welcome the official start of summer, the pool & beach is sure to be a lively spot. Between yoga, happy hour, clambakes and BBQs, the Club will have all the necessities to kick off the season right!

The culminating event of the summer season, Sounds of Summer returns this June. We have implemented new activities for the kids and live entertainment for all. Fun times ahead.

Remember, we are always open to suggestions as far as what might interest you, so please feel free to contact me with your ideas.

Keep in mind, a good way to save yourself some money in 2018 is to refer new members. For every Associate Golf Membership referred, you will receive one thousand dollars to your account.

We truly have a great Club and I thank you, the members, for making that possible.

With a number of Nor’Easters this winter, the arrival of spring is eagerly awaited!

We begin our season with our always popular Easter Celebration in the Abbey dining room as well as the Ballroom! Then, as our gardens about the Club will be in full bloom, Mother’s Day will be a glorious time to treat that special lady in your life, again in our Abbey Dining Room or the Ballroom, complete with fresh selections from Executive Chef Jim Burnett and Chef de Cuisine Ryan Walsh- reach out to our Club Concierge, Maggie Johnson for reservations!

We will also be hosting quite a few wine dinners for everyone to enjoy; a unique experience here at the Club complete with a four-course selections and a sommelier host to take us on an adventure through the tasting notes of all our selections.

Before long, our Pool will be open along with our Friday Night Tiki Bar by the beach! Look forward to new selections at your Pool Café as well as the Beverage Cart for refreshing delights to keep you in summer’s cheer.

Our Memorial Day Weekend will launch all these popular member amenities for you and your family to enjoy throughout the summer season.

Our bustling spring and summer seasons of events will certainly keep your social calendar full, from wine dinners, to ladies’ nights, to family-friendly events on the beach, so please keep an eye on email notifications as well as calendar updates on our website to take full advantage of what we have to offer!

It looks like winter is finally behind us and warmer days are on the horizon! As the weather warms up and the snow begins to melt, I invite you to take a walk around our Club grounds and admire all the beautiful spaces we have to offer, especially our new Abbey Patio and Ceremony Area!

FROM THE FAIRWAYS Welcome to the 2018 Golf Season! Winter is finally behind us and we are excited for the warm spring days ahead.

The 2018 golf tournament groups will soon be available for open registration on the member website. Please remember these groups require golf membership first. Your member account will be billed for the entry fee by the end of April. Please do not pay for the group at the time of registering for golf membership.

FROM THE ROUGH This has been a busy winter season for the golf maintenance team. As Spring clean-up continues, we’re doubling all of our efforts in ensuring peak conditions for golf opening day! As the season gets underway, as the grass wakes up from its winter sleep and as the weather continues to warm up – you will be sure to see many of the enhancements we’ve made along the entire course as well as some additional improvements which will soon be underway.

We encourage all members to regularly check the Club website, especially the golf calendar for all upcoming golf events and tournaments. Once again no invitations are required. To register you can simply click on the event on the calendar.

Generally, registration opens up approximately one month prior to the event date. Remember, your past registration does not automatically renew, therefore you have to rejoin the golf group before you register for an event. While the bunker project has been faced with hurdles and delays, we are happy to report that everything possible is being done in completing them in a record time and with minimal impact to the golfing experience. When completed, we will not only have one of the best practice facilities in Bergen county but most likely some of the best conditioned bunkers in the state!

2018 proves to be a great year in the Golf Shop with dozens of demo clubs and fitting systems available in Callaway, TaylorMade and Ping. We strongly encourage you to try some of the wonderful 2018 products. We will also be featuring new Travis Mathew men’s apparel along with Vineyard Vines, Under Armour and Greg Norman Collection available for both, men and women.

As always, everything that we do, is guided by our undying commitment to having the best golfing conditions possible and with your enjoyment being paramount! I am thankful for the help, guidance and support of the Club’s Greens Committee to all of our golfers at large!
