VISION Circle of Sustainable Europe (CoSE) is a leading NGO connecting, combining and creating environmental and social sustainability projects across Europe; it does so by a ‘Top-Down’ & ‘Bottom-Up’ approach. As an umbrella organization its aim is to expand knowledge and awareness of today’s biggest climate change challenges. It does so by supporting cooperation between international, national, regional and local initiatives aiming to address the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) set out by the UN with a voice at an EU level.
MISSION To create a platform with existing sustainability initiatives that allows education, business, civil society and others to strategically; connect, plan, create and develop in-house skills. Today, there are ample single-standing initiatives across Europe that do not necessarily have the capacity to cooperate and communicate with each other; this “island mentality” in most of these cases limits the impact these projects could have. Our platform combined with our community could be the tool for knowledge and innovation to be shared across Europe.
TIMELINE
2021: Alongside projects mentioned below and being accepted as an ´observer organization´ to the UN COP26 in Glasgow this year, CoSE organized two Erasmus+ exchange projects as lead-partner with multipe partners from other countries; first project: ‘Tools for Social Visibility’ (29 Aug - 7 Sept) in Saulkrasti, Latvia was about ‘youth and digital skills’ with participating countries: Latvia, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Spain, Poland and Belgium. Second project: ‘Be The Game Changer’ (17-28 October) in Tsachkadzor, Armenia was about ‘discrimination and social inclusion’ with 8 participating countries: Lithuania, Georgia, Ukraine, Spain, Lativa, Armenia, Moldova and Belgium. During this exchange CoSE signed an official partnership with the Armenian State University of Economics (ASUE) to organize more Erasmus+ Exchanges between Europe-Caucasus area, eventually expanding these projects to the Middle-East.
2020: Legal founding with the notary signed, including a royal resolution and an accredited lobby-status at the European Parliament in Brussels and Strasbourg. CoSE than focussed on establishing various official partnerships in this region, including Holland House, European Student Think Tank and European Future Forum to futher expand our network with (young) politicians, community leaders, initiators and entrepreneurs in the Benelux region and internationally. Furthermore, organizing, hosting and moderating the first AI4SDGs Webinar Series in partnership with UNDP and UNEP.
2017-2019: started organizing and hosting activities with ESLOO European Schools Love Our Ocean, Green Capital of Europe; Nijmegen Green Capital 2018, the European Regions and Cities Week Gelderland, World Summit AI, World Space Week The Netherlands and Spacefluencers Community.
