: Students are able to: 1. explain theoretical principles in various approaches to ESP training (CTPS) 2. analyse ESP training plans for particular target groups (P3) 3. design ESP training for a target group of learners (C4) 4. evaluate effectiveness of ESP training (A5, EM)

SINOPSIS

: This course covers principles and theories in ESP training approaches. It focuses on aspects of utilising training needs profiles to formulate ESP training plans for specific target learners that consider language-, skill-, content- and task-oriented approaches. The course provides training in the use of contemporary, learner-centred techniques. It also covers case studies of ESP training, and effective delivery and evaluation of ESP courses.
