TREATED LUMBER

This lumber is pressure treated with agents that prevent infestation, often referred to as Wolmanized lumber in dimensional lumber (2” and up) and boards (1”) in several lengths. Available in boards (1”) and dimensional lumber (2” and up) in several lengths. ARC’s Lumber Treatment Plant is the first of its kind in Jamaica and has the capacity to treat approximately 500,000 BF of lumber per 40-hour week.

CLINKER

This is a weather resistant board used on the exterior of buildings it is a specially treated board designed to be used on the exterior of buildings for maximum weather resistance where timber is a preferred over concrete and other weather resistant material. Lengths and Widths Available: 1” × 6” × - 10’, 12’, 14’, 16’; 1” × 8” × - 10’, 12’, 14’, 16’

FENCE POST

Used for fencing,and decorative purposes. Dimensions: 3” × 5’

ROUGH LUMBER

Rough lumber is usually untreated but is also available treated. It’s offered in 1 × 3, 1 × 6 and 2 × 4 dimensions with 1 × 3 being the most commonly used size for supporting zinc, aluminum, steel sheeting, constructing form work, and setting out area to be excavated for the foundation of buildings and constructing temporary structures. 2 × 4 rough untreated is used in the same way as 1 × 3 rough untreated. 4 × 4 size lumber is used mainly for making posts and for fencing.

SHOT EDGE

This is the straight edged lumber with thickness of 1”. 1” x 3” & 1” x 4” are predominantly used in roofing and for making molding strips and skirting. Lengths and Widths Available: 1” × 3” × - 10’, 12’, 14’, 16’; 1” × 4” × - 10’, 12’, 14’, 16’ Widths above 4” (6”, 8” 10” & 12”) are used for making fascia boards and in furniture construction.
