Live + Work + Play (nightingale housing proposal) Master thesis : Spring 2018 The University of Melbourne Individual thesis in collaboration with Nightingale housing

Programs used : Revit, Lumion, Photoshop, Indesign

Thesis proposal in collaboration with Nightingale housing for a new housing model that promotes ‘work from home’ culture, featuring apartment units along outer edge of the site and the central void becomes an active work space zone with 5 distinct work atmospheres across 3 levels. This model is targetted at millennials and young professionals who are tech savy, offering them an efficiently designed apartment unit along with a large office space that is affordable, sustainable and flexible, together costing less than a regular outgoing 2 bed unit

‘Frillish’ Tectonic Grounds (interactive design installation) Summer intensive 2018 The University of Melbourne Group work Programs used : Rhinoceros, Photoshop, Indesign, Physical modelling An interactive model that was built ground up, fabricated, protyped and executed by a team of students that actively used arduino circuit boards, multiple moving parts, gear and lever mechanism, light and motion sensors and laser cutting technology to bring out the final product that was later exhibited at NGV and at Ballarat white night

To minimize visual impact of the installation’s support structure, a grid arrangement of piano SUB-STRUCTURE SUB-STRUCTURE EXPLODED AXONOMETRICcables were utilized to create node points where clusters were hung off from. Piano Cables were thicker in radius and provided a stronger connection with the truss. By pre-tensioning the cables, 1 - Motor the grid system created intersecting node points that acted as the connection for the fishing wire. 2 - Straight-toothed rack 3 - Gears 2 6 fishing wires were used to hold up each module cluster, each tied firmly to a cable-cable node 4 - Support frame 2 5 - Primary component point or a cable-truss node point. 6 - Secondary component Perspex Tri-arm frame

A tri-arm perspex frame is employed as the sub-structure of each individual cluster, where each arm holds up 1 module. The perspex sub-frame is screwed on top to connected 3 individual modules. The tri-arm configuration prevents overlapping of the modules and stops them from colliding during movement.

Work Experience December 2015 - December 2016 Junior Architect at Dezynyard, Chennai, India Programs used : AutoCad, SketchUp, Vray, Photoshop, Indesign With constant involvement of the principal architect, I have worked on various projects ranging from interior design, house alterations, residential architecture from ground up, chain of fitness stores, offices and factory designs. This was accompanied by regular site visits, liasoning with contractors, supervisors and vendors. This project is a beach house in Chennai, India which I worked on from design development to design execution. It was completed in late 2018

North Melbourne Community Centre Design studio : Fall 2018 The University of Melbourne Individual project Programs used : Rhinoceros, SketchUp, Lumion, Photoshop, Indesign A design proposal for North Melbourne community centre in collaboration with DesignInc, focusing on the principles of biophilia and sustainability. Merri creek trail was taken as an inspiration for design development and form finding, translating materiality and emotion of the trail into the design. It houses consultation rooms, treatment rooms, multipurpose hall, central courtyard elements for public gathering, parametric roof design and provision for various staff activities

Office Skyscraper (applied architecture technology) Fall 2017 The University of Melbourne Group of 3 Programs used : Rhinoceros, Revit, AutoCad, SketchUp, Photoshop Applied architecture technology subject dealt with a skyscraper design proposal along Elizabeth street for an office tower that included technical know-how of construction methods, structural soundness, sustainability, calculations for elevator arrangements, material systems and in-depth detailings for unitized curtail panelling, lobby, crown design and overall exterior facade treatment

Rail Line Housing Design Studio : Spring 2017 The University of Melbourne Individual Design Proposal Programs used : Aurin mapping, SketchUp, Lumion, Photoshop This design proposal aims at a scenario where affordable housing is extremely crucial to Melbourne. The Rail Line housing is an easily multiplyable strategy which is highly configurable and very affordable. It aims at millennials, single or couple to adapt themselves to this new habitat that is as big as a small city with all amenities; including housing, schools, recreation, sports, walkways and more. As the railway line belongs to the government, this ideally means that buyers only have to pay the construction cost and zero land cost
