Well camouflaged by a curtain of tall trees, in the middle of a 3-hectare park, on Frederic Mistral Street, it has been located for more than 100 years, one of the hidden treasures of Timisoara, the Industrial Water Plant.

The beautiful industrial Secession-style building was built at the turn of the century, when the city was constantly evolving, technical progress and innovation were on the rise, as an ingenious solution found by the water company of the time, ACOT, to serve local industry. The industrial water plant stopped in 2007, after a century of work.

She is now living a second life.

Inside the plant, in the green area, a space has been set up dedicated to children who want to find out, in an active and playful way, as many spectacular things about water as possible.

Aquapic, the educational center opened in 2018, receives groups of children accompanied by teachers, educators, teachers, from spring to autumn. Thousands of children have already crossed the

threshold and learned, among other fascinating things, the story of industrial water.

The Industrial Water Plant is part of a complex that marked a crucial moment in the development and emancipation of the city, when it was put into use. Timisoara had sewerage and the first wastewater treatment plant on the current territory of Romania, in 1912, in 1914, the Water Plant no. 1, and in 1916 the Spray Water Establishment, ie the Industrial Water Plant.

All these technical achievements are related to the name of a visionary engineer, Stan Vidrighin, who was the first Romanian mayor of Timisoara, after the Union with Romania, on August 3, 1919.

No less important is the author of the architectural works that house the buildings. mentioned techniques. Laszlo Szekely, the most important architect of his time and the first chief architect of Timisoara, designed numerous Secession buildings in Timisoara, both residential and industrial.

Native Texan, Wife, mom of two boys 20 and 14 years old, aka “smom,” lover of travel, design, art, dance, & all things that bloom & grow. I have a not so secret desire to move to Ireland and keep my business stateside running virtually through my trusted team one day. We love animals. We have a cat named Loki and a new puppy named Doolin, named after one of my favorite villages in Ireland. She is a

She looks a lot like a Muppet, and will be 80 pounds when she is grown. I have had my degree in interior design since 1991, and I knew I wanted to be an interior designer when I was in fifth grade. The “Ice” in Ice Interior Design is my maiden name, but I also love all the other connotations that come with that word, like “cool”, or “diamonds”, or the “icing on the cake for your home”.

How Do You Stay Connected With Fellow Lovers Of Interior Design?

I choose to devote my screen time mostly to Instagram & Facebook posts, social media venues. It seems to be a quicker way for me to stay plugged in and share exciting things I come across in the industry. Life is so fastpaced and full now; I may pick up a blog down road when it slows down… ha ha!!

How Would You Describe Your Design Style?

I often get asked this question.

It’s a common misconception that designers can only design in their

personal style. I like to tell my clients that my goal is to discover their style, the vision that they have in their minds. I want to make that a reality for them in the best way possible. I design in all styles: transitional, modern, contemporary, farmhouse, traditional, Austin eclectic, and the list goes on.

She is fearless in her use of patterns and colors. Corey Damen Jenkins is fun to follow for the classics; he specializes in traditional design with an elegant twist. The Novogratz have an eclectic, casual style and incorporate their large family into everything. Kelly Ellis and Laurie Dennis both host shows on HGTV and are well known in the design community. They are inspiring to me because they have been very supportive and accessible me personally, and many other designers.

It is always fun to follow them and keep up with what they are doing as they continue to innovate and design. So many others! Some of the most inspiring to me are my friends who are designers that I have made through the years. They are spread across the US from Chicago, Dallas, all the way to Wisconsin. I follow their blogs and posts regularly and we support, encourage and even bounce ideas off each other.

If I was going to describe my own house I would call transitional with contemporary elements. My office is eclectic with bright bold colors and patterns; it makes me happy. My bedroom has a lot of Moroccan influence. When it comes to your home you should do what makes you happy and what works for your family. I love helping people accomplish their visions.

Do You Follow Any Other Designers Or Blogs For Inspiration?

Yes, there are so many great examples past and present. I love Frank Lloyd Wright’s work it has always inspired me. I also love a lot of classics, the 50s and 60s and 70s have come back in a big way, especially in Austin!
