The Palm Island, hailed as the 8th wonder of the world is land reclaimed from the Ocean using rainbow dredgers guided a complex DGPS system. 1885 luxury villas were built on the fronds consisting of 61 different types of designs and variations. Designed to resist the harsh weather of the ocean, each of the villas have a private beach and fresh water swimming pool with temperature control. The villas are broadly categorized according to size and facilities as Signature Villas, Garden Homes and Town houses. The design and documentation takes into account the logistics of large scale repetition and delegation to the 3 main contractors and numerous subcontractors involved in the construction.
