What is ASHRAE's position on the use of internal duct lining?

ASHRAE addresses the use of duct liners in Chapter A48 of the 2011 ASHRAE Handbook – HVAC Applications. Information on Duct design can be found in Chapter F21 of the 2009 ASHRAE Handbook - Fundamentals and in Chapter S18 of the 2008 ASHRAE Handbook - Systems and Equipment. The handbooks may be purchased and/or individual chapters of the handbook may be purchased and downloaded on-line at our website, www.ashrae.org or by calling 1-800-527-4723 in the USA and Canada or 1-404-636-8400 worldwide.
