HISTORY OF CARD  Pilot implementation in two SRO’s in 1997  Introduction of CARD in 214 SRO’s in 1998.  Legal status from September,1999.  Sustenance of the project through User Charges and FM  Coverage of CARD in all 387 SRO’s in 2003  Networking of 387 SRO’s during 2003-04  Legacy data entry from 1983 to 1998 by private agency for EC purpose.  45 new sub registrar offices under BOOT model from 01-10-2007.

Database of Bio-image comprising of  Photos and Finger prints of registering public  to check cases of Impersonation  Proposal for e-challan System to  - facilitate citizens to pay challan amount in any Bank  - enable SR to identify possible Fake challans  - provide IGRS/ Govt. with latest info. on Revenue   iCARD, intranet-enabled CARD  replicating the data of registered documents  from SRO to CDC (CARD Data Center) through WAN  Backbone for CARD Web services URL igrs.ap.gov.in
