Axel is a student from Hamburg in Germany. He has got brown hair and dark eyes. He has got an uncle: Professor Lidenbrock, a famous geologist.

The professor is very intelligent but very worried... today he has got a problem: a piece of paper from an old book with an incomprehensible message in code. He can’t read it!

Axel breaks the code and reads the message. It is a fantastic story of an incredible journey to the centre of the earth by the mysterious geologist Arne Saknussem.

The professor is excited and decides to start this adventure. Axel is scared but he prepares his explorer’s kit with a torch, a sleeping bag, a tent, a map and a water bottle.
