Developing The Radio Professionals
Roshan Abbas with the students at EMDI
Understanding and anticipating the boom in the field of radio, EMDI Institute of Event Management launched the EMDI Radio Training Institute. The venture is a strategic initiative to bridge the gap between the demand and supply of potential radio talent and the industry players venturing into the radio domain. According to Abhijit Dabhade, Associate Director (EMDI), the institute has always focussed on creating courses that lead to immediate employment, and for the radio industry identification of a competent and skilled work force is a challenge. The institute aims to meet the challenge of providing the radio industry trained professionals.
Please tell us something about yourself? I am B-School graduate with experience in organising events for leading companies. Realising the gap for trained professionals spurred me to launch EMDI with a course in event management www.radioduniya.in
as the first offering. As our event management course grew, we started concentrating on other fields in the communication industry that lacked professionals, leading to the development of courses in PR, Radio and Advertising. Hence the Radio Institute came in to existence. 33
