Why

Shamrocker Adventures?

LOCAL GUIDES, GUARANTEED WE HAVE NEVER CANCELLED A TRIP SINCE WE STARTED IN 1999 – YOU BOOK, YOU GO 98% OF OUR CUSTOMERS RECOMMEND US ON TRIPADVISOR

YOU ONLY EVER MEET TWO TYPES OF PEOPLE... THE IRISH AND THOSE WHO WANT TO BE IRISH! Our Irish adventures are shamelessly good fun. It’s been our mission for the past twenty years to show independent travellers what ‘great craic’ really means, and there’s nobody else better to do this than our 100% local Guides. The Irish are the world’s best storytellers and have more facts and tall tales than you could shake a stick at! Learn about our turbulent past, from mass migration through the centuries to the recent ‘Troubles’ of Northern Ireland. Follow the three-eyed raven through the ancient landscapes and be transported straight to the heart of the Seven Kingdoms when we explore Game of Thrones film locations like ‘The Dark Hedges’ and the Iron Islands. After an action-packed day of roaming the forty shades of green that is our Irish countryside – there are good times to be had in a place central to much of our culture… the pub. We consider it our duty to make sure you experience the ‘real’ Ireland, so shenanigans are guaranteed and the craic will be mighty!

THE DARK HEDGES Dating back to the eighteenth century, the beautiful avenue of beech trees was planted by the Stuart family to impress visitors as they approached their home, Gracehill House. Two centuries later, and with the help of Game of Thrones, they still impress today and are better known as ‘The Dark Hedges’.

Emma, Dublin I’m an Irish gal through and through and the one thing I love to do most is show off the beauty of my country, retell the old tales and keep our culture alive! To learn is to live and I love imparting my knowledge to those who listen! I get to do this and meet people from all over the world. My favourite place in Ireland has to be the diverse gardens of Blarney Castle where I can watch the wildlife and soak in the mythical Irish beauty.

Our Guides are the real deal: master storytellers, yarn-spinners and total legends. One thing’s for sure, you won’t shut them up – they are living proof that kissing the Blarney Stone gives you the gift of the gab forever more! Oh, and a little heads up: you’ll probably develop a crush - and that’s okay. Our Guides could charm the birds from the trees – whether it’s their passion, that gorgeous lilt (one of the sexiest accents in the world) or the cheeky twinkle in their eye – you’re likely to leave a piece of your heart in Ireland.

Jack, Dublin

Aisling, County Louth

My favourite thing about travelling abroad has always been the opportunity to make new friends from all over the world. As a Shamrocker Guide I get to do this every day as we travel around Ireland. After a week spent walking along our highest cliffs, learning our most fascinating history and partying in our wildest bars your Shamrocker tour group will become like a second family. My favourite part of the tour must be the mighty Cliffs of Moher. When you're up here, over 200 meters above the ocean below, you really do feel as though you're on the edge of the earth.

I've travelled all over the world but there's nowhere I've been that can compare to the rugged beauty of the west coast of Ireland. My happy place is Inis Mór, a stunning island off the coast of Galway where you will hear our beautiful native language being spoken. You can cycle for miles without any traffic (except maybe a horse and cart), visit ancient ruins, swim in crystal clear turquoise water, watch seals playing on the rocks and sample some fresh local seafood! But my favourite thing about my job is the people you get to meet, all here to have a good time and share laughs, a few drinks and of course some nights out!
