FIR Magazine Dear Racketlon Community, it was three years ago when i started my second period as FiRPresident and at this place i presented the 1st ever FiR Racketlon magazine. in cooperation with the Novomatic Single World champs we have now managed to publish the second edition of this magazine with new and updated statistics and facts. these cover all Super World tour, international World tour and challenger Winners in FiR history as well as all medal winners of World championships. Not forgetting to mention the World champs medals table and the complete statistics of tournament victories in the olympic Draws: men Singles Elite, Women Singles Elite, men Elite Doubles, Women Doubles and mixed Doubles. We also offer a simple explanation of the FiR Government and a short preview of our re-launched website www.racketlon.net. at the beginning of 2009 FiR decided to install myself as part-time Executive President and although i did not always get the full work support i expected from my council members it was the only possible step into the future and the only way to manage the administration with the 29 member states FiR now has. three years ago i also spoke about

FiR`s primary aim to become GaiSF member and have 30 member states by 2011, which we have now nearly achieved. Unfortunately GaiSF meanwhile no longer exists and its successor Sportaccord has published new guidelines, where we now need 40 member states. it is not my character to give up something i started that is why i decided to run for the position of FiR-President from 2012 to 2014 for the third time in a row. these next three years will be crucial for international Racketlon. if we don’t finally succeed to achieve 40 member states and become a recognised sport by Sportaccord we might never do so. in any case my personal decision is that this will be my last period as FiR-President, either i have then failed or i have succeeded to take Racketlon where it belongs, but nine years of presidency is enough. my aim is to hand over at the beginning of 2015 with the financial possibilities to install a full time paid General Secretary. in the name of FiR, i thank all the Racketlon community for your support! marcel Weigl FiR – Executive President
