MULTI-STORY_DESIGN

MAPLE STREET SUITES, 2012

Project Description: The clients for this project would like to build a three story building and a below grade basement. The client specified that the following things need to be included: a fitness center, a coffee shop, one and two bedroom apartments and a basement space for storage and extra residential space. The building is located on Maple Street, Lake Placid, NY. The apartments are designed to attract younger professions looking to rent as well as older grandparents ready to downsize. Two apartments are designed to be ADA units and every apartment is designed with sustainable principles such as maximizing daylight, using natural and regional materials, using living walls, and stacking plumbing and water fixtures. This project required multiple floor plans, ceiling plans, electrical plans, building sections, and renderings. The designing of this project required studying New York State Building Codes and ADA requirements.

AREA OF WORK

AREA OF WORK

The two floor plans to the left are from a store remodel in Syracuse. I was working with a project architect on drafting this remodel when we found out from the store that the existing layout was changed and did not meet code egress requirements. In order to get the correct existing layout, I went to the store and measured the case line up and took photos accordingly. After the site visit, I worked along side the project architect to modify and update the plans to meet code.
