Designers, Zac Posen and Haider Ackermann are at the forefront of the Asian artisan trend.The disaasters that struck Japan during the 2011/12 season left these designers to take inspiration from the far east. Not only is the Asian Artisan trend following the overarching trend of exotic exploration that was seen in the backcast, but the manifestations of this trend show a recolleciton of traditional japanese style paired with classic patterns and sillouettes of America’s past. Key looks for this trend include a sinched waist, traditional obi belts, print mixes, and structural jackets which hint at origami folding.
