by Makeup Artist (MUA) Rachel With the change of season and warmer weather, we start to get into spring cleaning mode. This shouldn't just apply to your home, but to your makeup routine as well\ Here are a few guide lines to help you spring clean your makeup bag.

1. Wash your Makeup Bag. Your makeup bag can host a number of bacteria and germs, so you should keep it clean and make sure you're not using old products.

2. Wash your make up brushes.

Your makeup brushes should be washed at least every other week and disinfected with a spray cleanser daily. Spring is a good time to look at your brushes and decide if any need to be tossed. If the hairs begin to shed and the brush has lost its shape, it's time to throw it out.

3. When in doubt, throw it out. It may surprise you, but there are no FDA regulations for the expiration date for skin care or makeup products. "The most important reason to swap out makeup is because it has a shelf life 4.Switch it up.
