CODES OF PRACTISE & REGULATION GRID COPYRIGHT WHAT IS COPYRIGHT LAW?

HOW DID YOU KEEP TO COPYRIGHT LAW IN THE AUDIO AND VISUAL ELEMENTS OF YOUR PRODUCTION?

The copyright law encourages artists to make new and unique works of art. The copyright law enables authors and artist to continue using their unique skills safe in the knowledge that their hard work will be safe guarded from being exploited by others. The copyright law makes sure that the author or artists work will be available to the public but cannot be copied without permission

Whilst I was filming I made sure that everything I did that was going to be on camera had the right permission needed for example, the cast I used signed a waiver to make sure they were happy with what was happening and the locations I used I was allowed to film in and I had to ask The Colours if I could use their song in my work and they granted me the permission I needed to use their song in my work. Meaning I kept to the copyright law.

OFCOM OFCOM REGULATION

DESCRIBE THE PARTS OF THE HOW DID YOU KEEP TO IT IN CODE RELEVANT TO MUSIC YOUR PRODUCTION? VIDEO PRODUCTION

PROTECTING UNDER 18s

The protecting of under 18’s is when something isn’t suitable for anyone under the age of 18 to watch. It may not be suitable due to the content of the video

We kept to this by making sure the content was suitable for people of all ages to watch and as we are all under 18 anyway it wasn’t too difficult.

HARM AND OFFENCE

To make sure that levels of protection covering the makeup of television and radio services are in place to ensure the general public are not exposed to inappropriate content or such programmes.

We were careful with what we put in our work and that we didn’t have anything that may of offended any of the viewers.

CRIME

The programmes and videos that may encourage crime or lead to disruption are left out of the programmes or videos.

As our video was about love and relationship we didn’t have anything else in it that would have breached this.

FAIRNESS

The fairness of Television makes sure that people are treated fairly and properly in programmes and videos.

PRIVACY

The broadcasters must avoid unwanted invasion of privacy in programmes.

If anything in our video was violent or someone got hurt we would have said at the end that no one was harmed but as it was purely on love and cheating we didn’t need anything else. We made sure that everything in our video was suitable and fitted in with each of the OFCOM regulations.

INSURANCE TYPE OF INSURANCE

DESCRIBE WHAT THE TYPE OF INSURANCE COVERS

HOW WOULD IT HAVE AFFECTED YOUR PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT?

PUBLIC LIABILITY

The public liability insurance is there to ensure that if anything were to go wrong and anyone was hurt or put at risk they have the right to compensation.

If anything were to have gone wrong it would have meant we would have been in the wrong for not making sure that everyone’s health was accounted for.

COMPLETION

The completion insurance is a production schedule drawn up to safe guard the person or company providing the money for the making of the production. However if the production doesn’t go ahead the insurance would cover the cost of the production if it were to fail.

We wouldn’t of lost the money we were going to use for the production if it hadn’t of gone ahead.

TRADE UNIONS WHAT IS THE ROLE OF BECTU IN MEDIA PRODUCTION?

HOW MUCH WOULD THE CREW FOR YOUR MUSIC VIDEO HAVE COST IF YOU HAD PAID BECTU RATES? (ITEMISE EACH ROLE AND THE NUMBER OF DAYS YOU FILMED/EDITED)

Like all unions it ensures that its members are fairly employed, work conditions are safe, fair wage for full time, part time or contract work.

BECTU increase and decrease their rates to suit the economy and depending on who is signed to them meaning that the more well-known you are the more they charge
