At 7:38 a.m. on Dec. 3 2008 you came into this world. You were a beautiful healthy baby girl, weighing in at 8lbs. even, and 2o 1/2 in. long. You already know the special story of when you were born. You weren’t “Roxanne” until the day before we left the hospital. I was deciding between Lola, Ruby, Roxanne

and as you reminded me, Shay. Roxanne was the winner, and I was able to take you home two days later on my birthday! Now that we are celebrating your 5th birthday, I wonder how you got so big so fast! You are smarter than I ever imagined you could be, and I love you more and more each day I spend with you.

Happy Birthday Roxy! I’m so grateful that you are my daughter. You remind me that life is about having fun—make sure you always remember that! I love the games we play, cuddling and how you always convince me to sing you extra songs at bedtime. I love your silly laughs, and how you can brighten my day instantly. I especially love your creative mind. You can do anything you set your mind to— you might change the world! For your birthday I want you to know how special you are, and what a great kid you’ve become and continue to be. But, most of all...

I love you!

Twinkle, twinkle, little star, how I wonder what you are. Up above the world so high, like a diamond in the sky. When the blazing sun is gone, when he nothing shines upon, then you show your little light, twinkle, twinkle, all the night. Then the traveler in the dark, thanks you for your tiny spark, he could not see which way to go, if you did not twinkle so. In the dark blue sky you keep, and often through my curtains peep, For you never shut your eye, ‘till the sun is in the sky. As your bright and tiny spark, lights the traveler in the dark. Though I know not what you are, twinkle, twinkle, little star. Twinkle, twinkle, little star. How I wonder what you are. Up above the world so high, like a diamond in the sky. Twinkle, twinkle, little star. How I wonder what you are. How I wonder what you are.
