Le Jardin flies across the pond in search of pastures new, looking for gorgeous accessories to swoon over. Lets face it, us girls will do anything for first pic at a new bag collection. Over in Melbourne, Australia, fashion graduate Laura Thomey rescues pre-loved leather jackets from her local op-shops, takes them to her home studio and transforms them into beautiful handbags and purses. Laura is passionate about upcycling unwanted garments and materials and giving them a new lease of life, rather than sending them to landfill. Her great eye for beautiful materials helps her source out vintage patterned pieces, vintage lace and doilies which, combined with the pre-loved leather jackets, create one of a kind handmade pieces. Each with its own identity and story. ‘I find it romantic thinking about the history of the leather. Who

wore it? Where has it travelled? What is its story? Old leather has that beautiful supple feeling that only time can produce. Its rewarding to be able to re-use pre-loved leather in new modern handbags.’ Founded in 2009, Mina and Oli continue to create unique bags that will carry you from season to season. Visit www.minaandoli.com for your very own pre-loved leather bag and to shop the full collection. We have three on our Christmas list already! Make do and mend - The rebirth .

History goes full circle and we find ourselves hunting for those curtains we took down years ago, asking our grandmothers for that old nightie she used to love and digging out dresses that we have most defiantly over warn. But nothing is too old or over used! And anything can be transformed into something. Something beautiful at that. This month we are obsessed with our favourite re-work, re-use, re-style mantra and have most defiantly proven that garish 70s curtains can be beautiful in this day and age.
