About Rachael Rachael Taylor is an internationally renowned print & pattern designer, colour fanatic & creative stylist. She is the Owner & Founder of the Rachael Taylor Studio & the Co-founder of Make it in Design & the groundbreaking e-course The Art and Business of Surface Pattern Design. The success of these ventures lead to the creation of the popular online publication, MOYO Magazine - the world’s first online magazine dedicated to surface pattern design. Since it's first release it's been a global hit securing over 3.5 million impressions worldwide. To date, Rachael has collated an impressive (& still growing) list of global clientele & has had over 100 pieces of her work published across many well known design publications as well as several press & media outlets. From design books, interiors magazines & TV appearances, to trend books & online features, Rachael & her one-of-a-kind design portfolio have made a big impression in the design industry. Her artwork decorates products within the ceramic, interior, fashion, textile, greeting, stationery, gadget & personalised markets. With over 12 years experience working in the design industry, Rachael has built up a strong reputation and is renowned for her distinctive design style & wealth of technical knowledge. Her love of colour & use of hands-on experimental techniques, such as drawing with both her left & right hands & doodling with her eyes closed ensures her designs are unique, fun & always full of energy. The free-spirited quality of Rachael’s design work has attracted a wide range of buyers & clients in the UK, Europe & USA. She is also proudly represented by her agent - the wellestablished Lilla Rogers Studio. All of Rachael’s success even prompted her to begin public speaking & she is now regularly hired to deliver design-based seminars & lectures around the UK & USA. With her sister company Make it in Design, Rachael also teaches online surface pattern design modules & helps to deliver e-courses to aspiring designers all over the world; to date her classes have reached over 8,500 individual students across 65 different countries. She is also a member of the ACID (Anti-Copying in Design) Advisory Council & an active member in the design community.

Join surface pattern designer & creative stylist Rachael Taylor on March 4th, 2018 for an exclusive & unique Floral Print Motif Workshop in Woolton Village, Liverpool! This workshop offers a wealth of creative opportunity & promises a jam-packed day of floral fun lead by Rachael & her creative team. You’ll not only build up a bank of floral motifs for your portfolio - you’ll also develop your design skills, learn new ways to approach motif making, take on exciting creative tasks & gain invaluable & exclusive insights into the surface pattern & print industries! The workshop agenda 9:30 - 9:45am - Arrive at the workshop Tea, coffee & chatter as everyone arrives.

10am - Introduction Rachael & her team will introduce themselves, outline the structure for the day & discuss the key objectives for the workshop (all attendees will also be asked to introduce themselves in an informal manner). 10:15 - 10:45am - An insightful talk delivered by Rachael Rachael will summarise her career, the opportunities she has taken advantage of & will show you examples of floral designs from her portfolio as well as a selection of her original drawings. 10:45 - 11.10am - Beginning drawing exercises You will be provided with your drawing materials for the day & Rachael will instruct you in carrying out a few loosening up exercises. 11:10 - 11:30am - Treat time! Time for yummy treats & a chat. 11:30 - 12:00pm - Floral motif examples from Rachael Rachael will show you a series of drawings & examples of how she develops her own floral based design motifs. 12.00 - 1:30pm - More drawing time! Enjoy some freestyle drawing time as you get to play & experiment with the opportunity to get feedback from Rachael while you do. 1:30 - 2:30pm - Lunch A lovely catered lunch at a local eatery. 2:30 - 3:30pm - Further drawing exercises & development Time to develop a series of 20 motifs with a mixture of outlines, silhouettes, textured fills, pattern details & fun flavor. This is your time to inject your energy & personality into your drawings & motifs as Rachael shows you how to go from a basic drawing to a magical motif. 3:30 - 4:00pm - A visual prompt exercise A fun visual prompt exercise to end the day with, leaving you feeling inspired & ready to go home with a head filled with ideas. 4:00 - 5.00pm - Informal Q&A with Rachael Bucks fizz & prosecco during an informal Q&A with Rachael, as well as a chance to get a proper look through some of Rachaelâ€™s exclusive & unseen work. 5pm - Finish & head home feeling full of inspiration!

All materials will be provided during the workshop, however if you would like to bring your own this is perfectly acceptable. Please note that the workshop exercises will only be requiring black & white materials & we will not be working on any digital software.
The Rachael Taylor Studio photographer will be taking photos during the morning before lunch. We will mostly be taking images of the group, the room & the exercises. We would love to have everyone be involved but we understand if you do not feel comfortable being captured. Please let us know via email when you have ordered if you donâ€™t wish to have your photo taken (please see contact information below).
Tea, coffee & soft drinks will provided throughout the day by a team member. There will also be a mid-morning break for yummy treats & a nice chat. Lunch will be provided at a yummy local eatery - we will need to be informed of any dietary requirements via email. Please also note that there is stair access within the venue - if you have any concerns about accessibility please donâ€™t hesitate to get in touch with us (please see contact information below). Bucks fizz & prosecco will be provided during the informal Q&A section of the day but a non-alcoholic option will also be available.

Terms & conditions & refund policy
If there were to be any extenuating circumstances that prevented the Rachael Taylor team from carrying out the workshop on the proposed day we reserve the right to re-schedule or cancel the workshop. Full refunds will be offered for any re-scheduling & of course will be provided if the event was cancelled. If you need to cancel your booking for any reason we have a refund policy of up to 14 days before the event (18.02.18). Unfortunately we will not be able to provide a refund after this date. 12
