Meeting was called to order by President Greg at 9:00 a.m. The pledge and invocation was given by Rob Tessmer, Jr. Melissa Seney had the Business Partners introduce themselves. Melissa introduced Business Partner of the month Jacqui Watkins/John C. Meyer Locksmith who then addressed the membership. Florida paid in over 30 billion and claimed about 4 billion. If your property is prefirm (pre flood insurance map), rate will be reduced to October, 2013. Rates include second homes and businesses. Jeannette Collins - Citrus County Planning and Development gave update to membership. Department has 54 employees in four divisions. • Land Development Division - confirm land use • Building Division - oversees permits • Code Compliance Division • Geographic Resources and Community Planning Flood Insurance Rate Maps will be effective September, 2014. You may currently go to the building division and look at the maps. There has been an increase in permits.
West Coast Eye Institute expanding Reviewing land use for Duke Energy - electrical generating site - 400 acres east of plant off of Powerlline Road. Will bring 75 new full time employees. Creating master trail plan that will be included in the comprehensive plan. Bike trail is a major part of our tourism plan. Presently 47 miles of trails. Tourism development has the maps (Adam Thomas). David Bramblett gave MLS tidbit. Monthly and yearly dues on input sheet in MLS. For example, homeowner dues are $1200.00 year. You do not put $1200 under yearly and $100 under monthly. Laurel Ridge has a monthly due for lawn maintenance and yearly due for association. In that case you would use the monthly and yearly fields. District 7 DVP - Cheryl Lambert District 7 meeting will be July 18th with Tye Maner as guest speaker - Fill a bus with goods for homeless. August FR meeting - Extremely member focused. Each district has been challenged to do a float. Float will be on display representing District 7 and Thursday night there will be a parade of floats. International theme - South America. Free Friday - Showed video of FR conference and trade expo in August. Cheryl asked for volunteers to be on Affordable Housing committee. Cheryl asked for volunteers to be on Strategic Planning committee. RPAC Chairman - Debbie Scott 195% of goal. Made $10,701 on Chili Cook-Off. Investors were given pins. Cheryl Lambert is a Sterling R this year ($1,000) Bonnie Rosenberger continues to maintain her Sterling R. Melonie and Linda is now Statesman. Cheryl Lambert won share n share for $95.00 and gave back to Young Professionals.
Jacqui Watkins door prize was won by Caty Ruble. Centerpieces provided by Jacqui were won by Sally Price, Lori Haussy, Isaac Baylon, Cheryl Nadal, Helen Schwetz, Gitta Barth, Marvia Korol, Rob Tessmer, Jr., Hugh Tolle, Lisa VanDeBoe, Lisa Bauer, Wim Berndsen, Steve Varnadoe, John Maisel, Holly Jones, Linda Cridland, John Finley, Joe Meek, Debbie Scott, Paul Tegen, Dennis Pilon, Debbie Rector, David Bramblett, Hazel Carlson, Kathy Tolle, Peg Bertolami, and Cassidy Wahl. Queen of Hearts - David Bramblett drew, but did not draw Queen; therefore, free meal at next meeting. Next meeting Queen of Hearts will be $200.00.
