Ava Burns

11th Grade / Nun Ensemble / Waltz Ensemble Ava is excited to be in her first Park Avenue Player production in both the Nun Ensemble and the Waltz Ensemble. She was last seen in three numbers of the LBHS dance show PRECEPTIONS. She also loves to sing and has been taking vocal lessons for two years. She is looking forward to being a part of the Park Avenue Players’ family this year.

Gabrielle Bechtel

9th Grade / Nun Ensemble / Waltz Ensemble Gabrielle is excited for her second performance as a Park Avenue Player in THE SOUND OF MUSIC. She was last seen as a Harem Dancer in ALADDIN. She also starred as Ms. Hannigin in the Junior Park Avenue Players’ production of ANNIE. Along with acting, Gabi also loves to dance. She performed in her first dance show PERCEPTIONS here at LBHS. She is excited to be back on stage this year.

Marlena Becker

9th Grade / Nun Ensemble / Waltz Ensemble THE SOUND OF MUSIC is Marlena's second performance as a Park Avenue Player. After being in the Ensemble of ALADDIN this year, Marlena is excited to participate in another musical! She has been in Mr. Dresser's class since 6th grade, being a part of block shows, dance numbers, and the role of Grace in the Junior Park Avenue Players’ ANNIE, where she received the Junior Park Avenue Player of the Year Award. In addition to plays, Marlena enjoys her extra curricular activities: Musical Theater Workshop, Theater 2, guitar, piano, voice, and dance. She also appeared in ALMOST, MAINE with guest director Andrew Barnicle. She looks forward to future shows, and working with the great cast, crew, and staff.

Lila Boschet

9th Grade / Louisa Lila is a freshman who moved to America from France two years ago. She is so happy to have joined the drama program at LBHS. Lila has been acting since 3rd grade and has been in many original plays written by her French drama teacher including VOYAGE EN TERRE INCONNU, DROLE DE CAVALE and LES VENU D’AILLEURS. She has been in the musical theatre productions of JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOUR DREAM COAT, THE WIZARD OF OZ, THE LION KING and FAME. She also appeared in ALMOST, MAINE with guest director Andrew Barnicle. Lila feels fortunate to have played the lead role of Annie in the TMS musical ANNIE. This is her first show at LBHS and she couldn’t be more excited!

Caspian Brock

9th Grade / Nun Ensemble Caspian is thrilled to make her musical debut in THE SOUND OF MUSIC, though she is no stranger to the stage. Caspian’s singing career began at age 8 in the recording studio, where she composed her own melodies and backing vocals. Most recently her vocals were featured in the internationally acclaimed album “Strike the Root.” As both pianist and vocalist, she has performed in a variety of shows on the Artists Theater stage. Also an honor student, she plays junior varsity water polo and is a member of the LBHS Chorus.

Sarah Busic

12th Grade / Liesl Park Avenue Player credits include Hermia in A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM, Village Daughter in FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, Olive Ostrovsky in THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNUM COUNTY SPELLING BEE, Bonnie in ANYTHING GOES, Bridesmaid #1 in IPHIGENIA 2.0, Viola in TWELFTH NIGHT, Ariel in FOOTLOOSE, and Little Red Riding Hood in INTO THE WOODS. Other credits include various dance concerts with LBHS Dance as a choreographer and a dancer. Sarah would like to thank her directors and teachers Mark Dressler, Amanda Saunders, Tracey Bonner, and Roxanna Ward for all they have taught her over the past four years. Haley Castuera

11th Grade / Mother Abbess This is Haley's third year as a Park Avenue Player. In 2011 she was nominated for a JRAY Award as Best Female Soloist and won a Special Recognition MACY Award for the role of Irene, the Country Singer in FOOTLOOSE. She was Cinderella's Mother, Granny and Giant in INTO THE WOODS. She was also in ANYTHING GOES, THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE, and at TMS, Mama in ONCE ON THIS ISLAND. Gallimaufry credits include Beth in LITTLE WOMEN, CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY, JUNGLE BOOK and SNOOPY. This February Haley sang “One Day” along with Broadway’s David Burnham in the Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards Gala in Palm Springs. She will be dancing in the LBHS Spring Dance show and enjoys Musical Theatre Workshop and Chorus.Thanks to Mr. Dressler,Tracey Bonner, Ms.Ward, Ms. Irish and all the parents and volunteers who make the LBHS Drama Program the best anywhere!

Tony Davia

10th Grade / Friedrich Tony discovered his love of musical theatre as an 8th grader when he played Horton the Elephant in the fabulous Junior Park Avenue Production of SEUSSICAL, THE MUSICAL. He is very excited to play Friedrich in THE SOUND OF MUSIC. Last year Tony was a Guard in TWELFTH NIGHT and worked on the FOOTLOOSE tech crew. This year Tony played the unforgettable role of Razoul in Disney's ALADDIN. Tony intends to continue theatre throughout high school.

Chandler first became a Park Avenue Player in the 4th grade in THE MUSIC MAN as a child Ensemble member, and returned in the 5th grade as a tapper in BYE BYE BIRDIE. Other Park Avenue Player productions include Fairy in A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM, Village Daughter in FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, Edith in BLITHE SPIRIT, Marcy Park in THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE, Angel in ANYTHING GOES, Lucy in YOU’RE A GOOD, MAN CHARLIE BROWN, Ensemble in FOOTLOOSE, Sally in A LIE OF THE MIND and the Baker's Wife in INTO THE WOODS. After 8 years as a Park Avenue Player, Chandler would like to thank Mr. Dressler, Roxanna Ward, Amanda Saunders, and of course, Tracey Bonner for everything they've helped her become. This performance is dedicated to all of my friends at Camp Merrie-Woode for giving me hills to remember.

Jamie Duncan

10th Grade / Ursula / Nun Ensemble This is Jamie’s third performance with the Park Avenue Players. Jamie most recently performed as a narrator in ALADDIN. As a freshman she played Feste the Joker in TWELFTH NIGHT. As a Junior Park Avenue Player, she played Jojo in SEUSSICAL THE MUSICAL and Vicki in Mark Dressler’s original play SILVER LININGS. Jamie is excited to be in THE SOUND OF MUSIC and looks forward to being in many plays to come!

Zane Fair

9th Grade / Ensemble Zane is ecstatic to be cast in the Park Avenue Players presentation of THE SOUND OF MUSIC. This is Zane’s first year as a Park Avenue Player. Earlier this year he played the Sultan in ALADDIN. He also appeared in ALMOST, MAINE with guest director Andrew Barnicle. Last year with the Junior Park Avenue Players, he starred as Daddy Warbucks in ANNIE and in his youth he appeared in Gallimaufry’s THE JUNGLE BOOK. Zane will also be participating in the spring dance concert. He enjoys playing drums and other percussion instruments. He looks forward to being on the stage throughout his LBHS years!

Hana made her debut performance with the Park Avenue Players in the 6th grade, performing in FIDDLER ON THE ROOF as Shprintze, for which she received a MACY Bright Spot Award. She experienced the technical side of theater when she acted as sound tech for ANNIE last year at Thurston Middle School and performed in the 8th Grade Block Show as well. Last semester, Hana had a truly amazing experience during ALADDIN in the Harem Ensemble and thoroughly enjoyed her first high school performance. She also takes part in Musical Theater Workshop and looks forward to four more wonderful years of Drama.

Adam Genesta

12th Grade / Admiral Von Schreiber Adam is glad to be a part of the LBHS production of THE SOUND OF MUSIC. Most recently he wowed audiences as Jafar in the fall musical ALADDIN. Previous Park Avenue Player performances include a Village Papa in FIDDLER ON THE ROOF and Juror #6 in TWELVE ANGRY JURORS. As a Junior Park Avenue Player, he was the White Rabbit in ALICE IN WONDERLAND and Honza in I NEVER SAW ANOTHER BUTTERFLY. He also appeared in ALMOST, MAINE with guest director Andrew Barnicle. Adam enjoys playing the guitar, singing and Shap Show performances!

Anya Gourley

9th Grade / Sister Margaretta Anya is thrilled for her second production with the Park Avenue Players. In the fall, she played Cinderella's Stepsister Florinda in INTO THE WOODS. Before that, she was seen in Gallimaufry’s WHITE DALMATIAN, the American Debut of a Czech Rock Musical. Very active in the arts at LBHS, Anya also participates in the Chorus, Jazz Band, Marching Band, Musical Theatre Workshop, Theatre 2 and the Dance Program. Anya also appeared in ALMOST, MAINE with guest director Andrew Barnicle. She hopes to continue in the arts throughout and beyond her years at LBHS!

Savannah Graf

12th Grade / Frau Schmidt

Savannah began performing in the Children’s As a freshman, Traer played Feste in ShakeRepertory Theatre Company at age nine. Natalie Houlas

9th Grade / Nun Ensemble Natalie is very excited to be a part of the Park Avenue Players’ production of THE SOUND OF MUSIC this year. She was featured as Laughing Girl of Dandy Dan's gang in the Gallimaufry production of BUGSY MALONE. In the 7th grade, she participated in the Drama Block Show and in ANNIE as a New Yorker and Cecile the Maid. She sang her heart out as a Latte Girl in her 8th grade Block Show last year. She is looking forward to her student career as a Park Avenue Player, and can't wait for all the high school productions yet to come.

Clair Howell

10th Grade / Nun Ensemble This is Clair's third performance with the Park Avenue Players. Clair’s Junior Park Avenue Player credits include Gertrude Mcfuzz in SEUSSICAL THE MUSICAL and Vicki Peters in Mark Dressler’s original play SILVER LININGS. As a freshman Clair played a Wench in TWELFTH NIGHT, and this year Rapunzel in INTO THE WOODS. Clair recently played Anna in SPRING AWAKENING at Segerstrom Hall. She has appeared in numerous community theatre production including LAGUNATOTS, YOU’RE A GOOD, MAN CHARLIE BROWN, THE WHITE DALMATIAN, JUNGLE BOOK, JUST SO, DEFYING GRAVITY, and BARE. She performs in the LBHS Chorus, Dance, Musical Theatre Workshop and Theatre 2. She also appeared in ALMOST, MAINE with guest director Andrew Barnicle. She would like to thank Mark Dressler,Tracey Bonner, and Roxanna Ward for their support and direction, as well as her vocal coach Ms. Cornell.

Alex Hunt

12th Grade / Franz This is Alex’s fifth show with the Park Avenue Players. As a third grader he played a boyscout in YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU. In the fall of 2010 Alex played a Guard in TWELFTH NIGHT and last spring was a member of the FOOTLOOSE Ensemble when he brought audiences to tears with his unforgettable line, “Or falling off a log.” Alex thrilled audiences as the Genie in our recent production of ALADDIN. He is ecstatic to be working with so many excellent actors and crew members in THE SOUND OF MUSIC.

Elan Kramer

12th Grade / Max Detweiler Elan is honored to be performing with such an incredible cast. This past fall Elan played the Baker in INTO THE WOODS. Last year he performed in FOOTLOOSE as Principal Harry Clark. He served as the musical director and played Curio/Valentine in TWELFTH NIGHT. For his portrayal of William Morris Barfée in THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE, he won the JRAY award for "Best Comedian and a MACY Highest Achievement Award. He also received a MACY award for his role as the Purser in ANYTHING GOES and Mendel the Rabbi’s son in FIDDLER ON THE ROOF. He also appeared in ALMOST, MAINE with guest director Andrew Barnicle. Elan played piccolo and flute on a 2009 summer tour with the Four Seasons Youth Orchestra performing throughout Italy. In 2010, he attended a summer semester in Israel. This past summer Elan participated in the Baldwin-Wallace College Music Theatre Overtures program in Berea, Ohio. In college, Elan plans to pursue a degree in Music Theatre Performance. Thanks to the Park Avenue Players’ cast, crew, directors, family, friends, mentors, and teachers for making these past four years life changing and memorable!

Isabelle Laloutte Kindergarten / Gretl

THE SOUND OF MUSIC features so many of Isabelle's favorite things... music, dancing, singing, costume changes, big sisters and a great story! Though she has no professional experience, Isabelle has nonetheless delighted audiences for years (okay, mostly her family...at home!) with her singing and dancing performances. Isabelle performed "Do Re Mi" as a Kindergartener in the TOW Elementary Talent Show this year, and wants to continue studying all aspects of dance and music. Isabelle's love of theatre has been inspired by the many Park Avenue Player productions that she has seen. She is very happy to be a small part of this special production.

Laura Kawashiri

12th Grade / Nun Ensemble / Waltz Ensemble

This is Laura’s first performance as a Park Avenue Player. She previously performed with the Junior Park Avenue Players as the Queen of Hearts in ALICE IN WONDERLAND and a child of Terazin in I NEVER SAW ANOTHER BUTTERFLY. Laura enjoys singing and dancing, and is very exited to be part of this musical. This is Laura’s last year at Laguna Beach High School. In college, she intends to major in engineering.

Gabrielle is really looking forward to her first production with the Park Avenue Players. She first discovered her love for the arts in elementary school where she participated in many productions with the local children's theater. In 8th grade, she joined the Junior Park Avenue Players in the role of Mrs. Mayor in SEUSSICAL THE MUSICAL, and was a member of the Ensemble in Mr. Dressler’s own SILVER LININGS. Gabrielle is also in the LBHS Dance and Chorus programs, and would love to continue working with the arts. She is very thankful for everyone's support.


Noah Patillo

10th Grade / Ensemble Noah is thrilled to be a part of the Park Avenue Players’ production of THE SOUND OF MUSIC. Earlier this year, Noah portrayed Cinderella’s Father in INTO THE WOODS. This summer Noah participated in the U.S premiere of THE WHITE DALMATION with Gallimaufry. Previous Park Avenue Player roles include Ensemble in both FOOTLOOSE and TWELFTH NIGHT. He was a participant in MTU's 2010 International Summerstock, with performances in INTO THE WOODS, and as a soloist in DEFYING GRAVITY: The Music of Stephen Schwartz. Noah was a member of Gallimaufry’s 2009-2010 Generation GAP and performed in their production of LITTLE WOMEN. Noah sang and danced with No Square Theater’s LAGUNATOTS. Junior Park Avenue Player performances include Mr. Mayor in SEUSSICAL THE MUSICAL and Howard Peters in Mr. Dressler’s SILVER LININGS. Noah is part of Mr. Dressler’s Theater 2 class, and Tracey Bonner and Roxanna Ward’s Musical Theater Workshop. Noah also appeared in ALMOST, MAINE with guest director Andrew Barnicle. He is so happy to have this opportunity and has learned so much. Thank you Mr. Dressler, Roxy and Tracey!

Allie Ricci-Fischer

9th Grade / Nun Ensemble Allie is excited to be in her first performance as a Park Avenue Player in THE SOUND OF MUSIC. She was last seen as an Orphan in the Junior Park Avenue Players’ production of ANNIE, and has been a part of Mr. Dressler’s drama program since the 6th grade. Allie also starred as Lucy in THE LION, THE WITH, AND THE WARDROBE at Bali International School. Allie would like to thank Mark Dressler, Tracey Bonner, and Roxanna Ward for this opportunity.

Jennifer Rosenthal

9th Grade / Nun Ensemble

Jennifer is very excited to be participating with the Park Avenue Players in THE SOUND OF MUSIC. Previously, she played six different roles in the Junior Park Avenue Players’ production of ANNIE. She enjoys singing and has Makenna Pitz been in over seven performances with the TMS 10th Grade / Nun Ensemble and LBHS Choruses. Jennifer plays guitar and violin and is a participant in the LBHS String Makenna is very excited for her first perforEnsemble. Alina’s interest in music started when she joined the Southern California Children’s chorus at age eight, and now she sings with its Ensemble Choir, which is made up of Ethan Schlatter high school and college students. Last summer she attended the Idyll9th Grade / Kurt wild Arts Summer Camp and she has played piano for six years. This is Ethan’s second performance with the Kayla Pressley Park Avenue Players. He is very excited to play 9th Grade / Nun Ensemble Kurt in THE SOUND OF MUSIC. Most recently he was seen as Iago in ALADDIN. Eilidh Stalker

6th Grade / Brigitta This will be Eilidh's first performance as a Park Avenue Player and she is very excited to be part of THE SOUND OF MUSIC cast. A 6th grader at TMS, she has always loved singing, dancing and theater. Her love of the stage blossomed after she took part in the Galimaufry summer program in the Ensemble of BUGSY MALONE, and now she is off and flying! Eilidh brings enthusiasm and a smile to everything she does and being the youngest of four daughters knows a thing or two about family! She is delighted to unleash her inner von Trapp and thanks her family and friends for all their support.

Shaina Toner

11th Grade / Nun Ensemble Shaina is excited to be in her first Park Avenue Player production! As a Junior Park Avenue Player she played the role of Erzulie in the musical ONCE ON THIS ISLAND and Nina in YOU SEND ME. Shaina is a part of the dance program at the high school and performed in the fall dance concert PERCEPTIONS.

Jackson Tupy

12th Grade / Captain von Trapp This is Jackson’s last year on the Artists Theater stage and he is thrilled to be a part of THE SOUND OF MUSIC. Most recently he portrayed the Wolf and Cinderella’s Prince in the fall production of INTO THE WOODS. Other Park Avenue Player roles include Reverend Shaw in last year’s FOOTLOOSE, for which he received a Highest Achievement MACY award, and the Constable in FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, which earned him an Outstanding Achievement MACY award. He also played a Spirit in A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM and has participated in the LBHS Musical Theater Workshops and Theater 2 classes. He also appeared in ALMOST, MAINE with guest director Andrew Barnicle. Jackson is active with the Laguna Playhouse, and is currently a senior in their Repertory 2 Youth Theater program after six years of enrollment. Laguna Playhouse titles include: SLEEPING BEAUTY, STUART LITTLE, STAY TUNED FOR MURDER, and THE BOXCAR CHILDREN. In addition to theater, Jackson practices his vocal training, plays guitar, and loves to travel. He would like to thank Mr. Dressler, Tracey, Roxy, Amanda and the cast and crews for all of the wonderful shows over the years.

Elise Waldow

9th Grade / Nun Ensemble This is Elise’s first performance as a Park Avenue Player. As a Junior Park Avenue Player, she played the lead role of Annie in the production ANNIE. Elise loves to sing, act, and dance and would love to be in more performances in the future! Elise would like to thank Mark Dressler, Tracey Bonner,and Roxanna Ward for the chance to participate in this production.

Makenna Zur Schmiede 11th Grade / Sister Sophia

Makenna’s last performance was the Witch in the fall musical INTO THE WOODS. In 10th grade she played Wendy Jo in FOOTLOOSE and Sally Brown in YOU’RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN. As Wendy Jo, she earned a Best Supporting Actress JRAY Award and a MACY Highest Achievement award. As Sally, she earned a MACY Outstanding Achievement award. In her freshman year she appeared as Logainne in THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE and as a young Passenger in ANYTHING GOES, earning MACY Awards for both. She also appeared in ALMOST, MAINE with guest director Andrew Barnicle. Makenna has participated in South Coast Repertory's Youth and Teen theater programs and SCR Summer Player productions. In 8th grade, she was in ONCE ON THIS ISLAND and YOU SEND ME. Makenna wishes to thank her fellow actors and tech crew, Mark Dressler for his guidance and support, Roxanna Ward and Tracey Bonner for their inspiration and expert direction, and to give special appreciation and affection for her voice teacher, Margaret Quon.


PIT MUSICIANS Aaron Alcouloumre 9th Grade / Trumpet

This is Aaron's first time playing in the Orchestra Pit. He is very involved in the many music programs offered at Laguna Beach High School.

Thornton Fay

9th Grade / Drums Thor plays percussion with the LBHS Jazz Orchestra, Drum Line, and Marching Band and joins the Artist Theater Pit Orchestra for the first time on drums. Thor has studied with Joey Sellers of Saddleback College and plays with friends in rock bands and professionally at Laguna Presbyterian Church.

Eliiott Glass

11th Grade / Bass

Chase Cornell

12th Grade / Tenor Sax Although his first year participating in the musical production, Chase has been playing saxophone for many years. As a senior, he is ready for the challenges of THE SOUND OF MUSIC and he is looking forward to being part of a great production his last year at LBHS.

Jack Crawford

11th Grade / Trombone This is Jack’s first year at LBHS. He has been playing the Trombone for 6 years and he is looking forward to playing in the Orchestra Pit for THE SOUND OF MUSIC.

Elliott has played drums for the last two years in the LBHS Orchestra Pit but will play bass in THE SOUND OF MUSIC production. Elliott enjoys playing a wide range of musical styles and instruments including his onstage rendition of 'redneck guitar' in the LBHS 2010 production A LIE OF THE MIND.

Evan Kirkbride

12th Grade / Clarinet From humble beginnings on piano at age 6, Evan now plays 7 instruments. Evan has played in nearly every school band since TOW and currently plays with the LBHS Jazz Orchestra, Drum Line, and Marching Band. Evan returns to the pit this year on the clarinet after playing xylophone in FOOTLOOSE.

Kenji Lee

9th Grade / Clarinet This is Kenji’s first year in the LBHS Pit Orchestra. He enjoys playing wind instruments in the LBHS Wind Ensemble and Jazz Orchestra.

Dylan Delpizzo Howell 11th Grade / Electric Guitar

This is Dylan's third year playing with the LBHS Jazz Orchestra on guitar and percussion. He is a member of the LBHS Drum Line and this is his first experience in the pit. Dylan has a vast musical history that includes Shap Show performances, Thurston bands, and has his own professional band 'MoonShine'. He composed and played an original score for the LBHS drama A LIE OF THE MIND.

Nicolas Markman

10th Grade / Percussion Nick participates in the LBHS Wind Ensemble, Marching Band, Jazz Band, and Drum Line. He is excited to play bells, chimes, and other percussion instruments for a second year in the orchestra pit.

Dominic Droulez

Logan Penrod

This is Dominic's first time playing in the pit. He has enjoyed the music programs in Laguna Beach since fifth grade and plans to keep playing in the band and in the pit.

Logan is very excited to perform for his first time in the musical pit. He has played the tuba for 3 years and is thoroughly enjoying it. Logan is actively involved in all of the music departments here at LBHS, excluding the string ensemble.

Emily is excited to be playing in the pit for the first time! We last saw her as Sleeping Beauty in INTO THE WOODS. She also worked with the tech crew of that production. At Thurston Middle School she was part of the ensemble for ANNIE.

Samuel Thornton 12th Grade / Trumpet

Samuel Thornton returns to the Pit Orchestra performing first trumpet for THE SOUND OF MUSIC. Past performances include lead guitar for FOOTLOOSE and A LIE OF THE MIND. Sam is a member of Jazz Band,Wind Ensemble, Pep Band and Drum Line.


Artistic Staff Mark Dressler Director

Recently selected as LBUSD's Teacher of the Year, Mark Dressler has become well known in Laguna Beach for his direction of the TMS and LBHS drama programs. Mr. Dressler brings an unusual passion to all his work that is quite apparent to his students, many of whom are amazed at his energy and devotion. Of all his accomplishments, he is most proud of the community support that enabled the building of a state-of-the-art black box theatre at Thurston. Mark has directed and produced scores of excellent classical, contemporary and musical theatre pieces, too numerous to list here, over the past 25 years. As a teacher who believes in teenagers’ abilities, he keeps standards and expectations high; and his students consistently astound audiences with performing excellence! Mark remains grateful to our unusually artistic community, which continues to support the Performing Arts in our local public schools.

Tracey Bonner

Director/Choreographer Tracey is serving as creative consultant to the Park Avenue Players for her fifth consecutive year. She has performed across the country with various show and served as a choreographer and/or director in southern California venues including UCI, Azusa Pacific University, Miracosta College, Cal State Pomona, Vanguard Repertory Theatre, and Long Beach City College. Working in theatrical and concert venues including plays, musicals and dance concerts, Tracey has taught master classes in the US and Mexico. Tracey received her BFA in Music Theatre from Shenandoah Conservatory and her MFA from University of California, Irvine. Tracey is a faculty member at Mira Costa College, UCI, and a guest choreographer for the Laguna Beach Dance as well as various other venues and Universities in Southern California. Thanks for the Boosters, the parents, the students, and the extensive Performing Arts Department, for creating such a fabulous artistic experience that extends well beyond the stage. Peter Roche

Technical Director Peter has worked professionally for many years as a technical director, stage manager, scenic designer/carpenter and lighting electrician/ designer, at theaters and auditoriums all over the Southland. Some previous musicals in his credits include WEST SIDE STORY at the Los Angeles Music Center and THE UNSINKABLE MOLLY BROWN with McCoy/Rigby. Peter is the Theatre Manager at the Artists’ Theatre and is a member of the United States Institute for Theatre Technology. Peter and Mr. Dressler have been working partners on dozens of Park Avenue Player shows, astounding audiences for the past several years.

Roxanna Ward Musical Director

Roxanna joined the LBHS Performing Arts team eleven years ago. Her talent and energy as a vocal coach, choral director and performer have been evident in the Winter Choral Concerts and in the LBHS award winning renditions of HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS, FOOTLOOSE, THE MUSIC MAN, BYE BYE BIRDIE, OKLAHOMA, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, WEST SIDE STORY and FIDDLER ON THE ROOF. Roxanna came to Laguna Beach High School with a music degree from University of the Pacific and with considerable theatre experience as musical director, composer and producer in many professional venues. Roxanna is well respected in Laguna Beach for her direction of Lagunatunes and the Laguna Beach Community chorus. Roxanna is also a musical director at the Orange County High School of the Arts.

Lauren Spera

9th Grade / Stage Manager Lauren is really excited to be a part of the Park Avenue Players' performance of THE SOUND OF MUSIC. She was stage manager for the Park Avenue Players' production of ALADDIN during the fall. Lauren has been with Mr. Dressler since 6th grade. She was in the Junior Park Avenue Players' production of ANNIE last year and was in the spring 8th grade block show. She also takes classes at South Coast Repertory where she played Helena in their production of A MIDSUMMER NIGHTS DREAM. She also played the White Rabbit and the Duchess in the class production of ALICE IN WONDERLAND THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS. She hopes to continue with the Park Avenue Players throughout high school.

Hagen Deremo

11th Grade / Stage Manager Hagen Deremo began his career with the Park Avenue Players as a member of the John Raitt award-winning stage crew for last year’s production of FOOTLOOSE (Best Stage Crew/ Technical Execution). Hagen continued on to assume the role of stage manager for the spring 2011 production of A LIE OF THE MIND, as well as serving in the same capacity for INTO THE WOODS last fall. In addition to his participation in theatre arts, Hagen is an accomplished photographer and visual artist. During the summer of 2011 he studied photography and architecture at the American School in Switzerland summer program in Les Tapies, France.
