OFFICE 2020 POD Concept

The traditional office was conceived through the corporate grid division of the 1960’s. Social interaction and creativity has been suppressed till this day. The organizational behaviour of the corporate chimney has been demolished and replaced with a team base competitive environment. The conventional office environment is heavily influenced to separate the whole company. By introducing a social vertical opening, this will help promote more social interactions. By opening the floors together, it creates a much more open concept office allowing better social interactions. The spaces that allow for interactions are suspended on cable allowing interactions among 2 separate levels. The whole entire building then is emulated from these social spaces within the vertical social space.


Cable structure help dimish the overall presence of structural space. Cables allow maximum space within the office. No columns are needed and help allow unobstructed views.

The building structure will revolve around cables allowing maximum openness within the office environment. The cables are hung on top of the core and then tied to the floor plates all the way down. This allows better efficiency at a top down approach with faster installation of floor slabs.

Sectional Perspective The pods are separated into 2 distinct zones. One use is for the interior of the office which serves as meeting rooms and collaboration rooms. The rooms are color coordinated allowing easy navigation. The other use of pods is through the amenity space of green garden level. The space is then served to have proper amenity space that allows an open view.

RESOLUTE MONASTERY

The exploration spiritual should be in tune with the natural self. The surrounding area emulation from the natural forest typography. The visual play with the depth of ďŹ eld help create an illusion of tree foliage and providing refuge from external forces. The tree sybolize many things but it primarily a natural sanctuary of rest and wellness. The facade system emulate through this allusion where it creates a transluscent atmosphere all around the building.

The boat house is created for a client being able to drive from Vancouver ridges straight into their cottage. It is a quick transition from going from the city to the cottage. Because of the extreme terrain from the mountain typography, the 2 levels are seperated into zones. The top level is the rest area for the vehicle and people. The lower level supports the culture of life in Vancouver Islands; eating, relaxing and water recreation.
