Event Description The Jackson All-Star Challenge is a two-day event that highlights both the physical skill and community involvement of graduating male and female high school basketball players in the Metro Jackson area and surrounding counties. This same event has realized six straight years of success in St. Louis, MO, providing youth with the opportunity to showcase their skills for college coaches and scouts as well as giving the community an opportunity to come together to celebrate the athletic and academic accomplishments of these high school students. The main components of the Jackson All-Star Challenge are the two All-Star games (a girls’ game and a boys’ game), a slamdunk competition, and a three-point competition. However we have added additional segments to increase the value of the weekend for both the student-athletes and the general public. JAC Youth Mini-Camp The purpose of the JAC Youth Mini-Camp is to provide 8-12 year old boys and girls an opportunity to learn basic fundamentals of the basketball while giving the student-athletes a chance to provide a service to their community in a relaxed and fun environment. The mini-camp will last for three hours and include basic drills and instruction led by the coaches for the respective teams. JAC Educational Sessions The purpose of the JAC Education Sessions is to provide the student-athletes with a more in-depth look into the life of a college student-athlete. Each session will include two speakers who will highlight different areas, including time management, college study habits, physical health, and career planning.

These sessions will be led by college coaches and former collegiate athletes and be very interactive to ensure the youth get the most out of each session. JAC Pep-Rally The JAC Pep-Rally will build excitement for the game the next day and give pep squads, cheerleading teams, high school bands and team mascots from represented schools to provide entertainment throughout the evening. There will also be a JAC School Spirit Award given to the school that sends out the most students and fans to the pep-rally.
