Denise DeGidio As a fiber artist, knitting is rather new to Denise's resumé. She has studied various areas of the medium for many years and recently began teaching at the University of Wisconsin–Superior as a Fibers instructor. Denise appreciates using traditional craft and techniques to stay connected to how these methods and materials have been used over time by various cultures, which is ever more rare in the modern world. Incorporating the elements of art and principles of design help her inspirations come to life, and living in Northern Wisconsin—in close proximity to Lake Superior, her favorite inspiration—she finds that the nature surrounding her in daily life inspires her work.
