Where it all started

In 2006, James De Souza, current Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Queensbridge Homes partnered with Kieran Moore, founder of Fortis Developments Ltd. Initially, smaller refurbishments were completed on both commercial and residential buildings predominantly throughout the North of England all pre-sold prior to any refurbishment works starting. Following the recession in the UK in 2009, Queensbridge Homes was established to take advantage of the low land values and continual high demand for housing on a national basis by securing strategic land options with planning permission from the LPA Receivers. To this date, Queensbridge Homes and Fortis Developments form a strong alliance with numerous ongoing residential joint venture developments.

Group Acquisitions Director

Steve Mitchell Construction Director

James De Souza Chief Executive Officer and Founder

Lucy Suleyman Head of Sales

James started his career in the property industry at the age of 19, purchasing his first buy to let property. Within 2 years he commanded a portfolio in excess of £1m and managed the acquisitions department within one of London’s largest asset management companies. A further 2 years later, directorship was given and James’s responsibilities extended to all asset acquisitions and disposals, building a strong network of relationships with banks, receivers, developers and investors. By acquiring assets with the exit disposal in place, this positioned James to take advantage of the 2008 to 2009 recession and subsequently acquire substantial discounts on land and buildings through bulk purchasing. Initially partnering with Kieran Moore (founder and current CEO of Fortis Developments), James was involved with contractor management and safeguarding smaller sites from non-performance of the principal construction contractor. Queensbridge Homes was formed in 2010 to realise the equity from already acquired land and buildings, purchased via options throughout the recession.
