Girls on the Run of Eau Claire (GOTR-EC) aims to build girls’ physical and mental strength through running. The group works with girls in third through fifth grade to help them build self-esteem, character, and positive self-image. The sessions are tied to a 10-week running program that ends with a 5K. “I love the positive message that the program sends,” said GOTR-EC council director Kim Gillett said. “The program gives girls tools to deal with situations in a positive way and presents running in a fun way.”
