WELCOME TO THE NEW QUB LGBT NEWSLETTER! We aim to please here at QUB LGBT and if you’re ready for us we’re ready for you! To kick start the next academic year, we are launching a newsletter which will be delivered to all those on our mailing list at least once a month. This is the beginning of a new LGBT society in QUB where
you can expect to see many changes and facelifts over the coming months! ‘What’s the craic?’ is the hub for all the latest news gossip and scandal (we wish) that goes on in little NI and more importantly, in your campus at QUB. We aim to update you on local news
headlines regarding the LGBT community, new events and issues that we want you to hear about and most of all let you hear what the society is doing for you! So keep reading for some of the top stories from your society this month...
PRIDE WEEK IS DOCKING IN BELFAST! - GET YOURSELF ONBOARD! Sail down to the biggest event of the summer! With Belfast’s maritime celebrations continuing throughout the year it’s not surprising to see this years theme at Pride Festival is Pride
at Sea! Get your sailors outfits at the ready as QUB LGBT society is proud to be part of the biggest Pride Festival that Belfast has seen to date! Get yourselves down to the Pride Parade on Saturday 4th
August for what promises to be an amazing spectacle! QUB LGBT will be there with bells (and wedding dresses) on and we hope you can join us! March with us as we support the LGBT community and students we represent daily.

A new organisation has been set up to tackle the topic of Equal Marriage in Northern Ireland. QUB LGBT society have already hosted the first public consultation on it and hope to work with the organisation in the future to lobby the government to pass equal marriage legislation.
