hile I very much enjoy shopping all year round, there’s something about springtime that makes me REALLY enjoy it! This year, maybe it’s all the bright, bold colors in style, or the patterned pants, fun strappy wedges and the fact that “over-accessorizing” is no longer a bad thing. Spring scarves…oversized watches…layered wraparound bracelets…hats - they’re all “in” and can be worn together. Our Lincoln Center boutiques are carrying these latest fashions, making it very easy for me to do what I like best … shopping!

here’s something so relaxing about getting your nails done. The 45 minutes of peace and quiet is always so needed, yet almost unwelcomed in today’s age of overstimulation. Entering Signature Nails & Spa, I am reminded how it usually takes me a few minutes to sink into the experience of a pedicure - to just Tony & Cindy Phan enjoy it - rather than multi-tasking of Signature Nails & Spa by reading a magazine, chatting on my iPhone or checking my emails on my iPad. As I approach the counter, a happy customer stated, “I’ll be back! as she left the salon.

At Signature Nails & Spa, it’s quite easy to enjoy the experience of whatever treatment you’re getting. In fact, it’d be difficult not to! It’s like escaping into an oasis of pampering. The receptionist is friendly and attentive. The salon is gorgeous and clean, with brand new state-of-the art equipment including 18 comfy pedicure chairs and a VIP room. There are a multitude of polish colors in an assortment of brands to choose from- like fun shades in orange, blue and green to more traditional pinks, reds and creams. The variety of specialty services they offer is exciting, from their Signature OPI Manicure to Champagne & Rose Pedicure. “How does the salon excel at doing it all?â€? I asked owner Tony Phan, who operates the business with his wife. “We have to,â€? he said. “It’s about giving the customer everything- service and quality. It even comes down to the dĂŠcor and lighting,â€? he added while

Special Feature pointing to an orchid in the corner and the unique blue lighting overhead. His energy and love for his new “baby are undeniable. In our interview, he seemed to have one eye on me, and the other on the door, continuously jumping up to greet customers walking in. I even heard him offer each person a complimentary beverage. “Bottled water or soda? he asked. This “baby is the third salon Tony and Cindy have owned, and their fourth “child. Their children, Kevin (13), Anthony (10) and Alina (8) love stopping at the shop after school. The Phans, who live in Stockton, previously owned a salon in Modesto, which they sold upon opening Signature Nails & Spa. “It’s always been our dream to have our business in this Center, a place where we can really get involved in the community and have our neighbors and friends as our customers, Tony said. Services offered include sculpture nails, silk wraps, unique designs, glitter, gels, solar, acrylic, paraffin, callous treatment, and hot stone massage plus facials, waxing, and a brand-new version of “pink and whites where an alternative material is used in place of acrylic, leaving the nails feeling and looking more natural. I wrapped up our interview with a much-needed mani/pedi and it was then that I really understood what sets Signature Nails apart. And like the girl walking past me upon my arrival, I left saying, “I’ll be back!
