his year, summertime is bittersweet at Lincoln Center. As many of you may know by now, the owners of our beloved neighborhood department store, Campbell’s in the Village, have announced retirement. Owners Debby Dittman and Terry & Suzy Cossette are excited for this next phase of life and proud of the 59year legacy that Campbell’s will leave. When Campbell’s opened in the summer of 1953, the store consisted of 2,400 square feet and has grown to 22,000. Much like Lincoln Center, which has grown from 5 acres to 40. Over the last six decades, Campbell’s has remained a Stockton landmark and a family tradition- and has been owned and operated by the Campbell family for all 59 years. While we, the Lincoln Center “family”, are excited for Debby, Terry and Suzy and their next stage of enjoying life, traveling and spending time with grandchildren, we also feel nostalgic and want to honor Campbell’s, thankful for all that it has brought to the Center. It’s where my parents took me to get my “holiday best” starting 25 years ago. And I know many community members have their own special stories from the red- and white-striped boxes under their Christmas tree to visiting the Easter Bunny and anticipating their Honest Abe Sale. As the life of our neighborhood department store comes to a close, it’s legacy continues. Lincoln Center and our shops will carry on the tradition of quality products and great customer service, while continuing to expand the opportunities for our shoppers. And speaking of traditions, our LIVE! At Lincoln Center events, which were started over ten years ago, are quickly approaching. We’re eager to share these fun community events with you, starting with the Wine Stroll on June 15th, a fundraiser for the YMCA of San Joaquin County. Attendees will stroll, shop and snack through our stores! Don’t miss the chance to taste local olive oil, cheese and wine from 20 local wineries, plus hors d’oeuvres and live music from four different musicians. Then on July 20th, we’re “going green” with a Family Bike Night and Green Expo at our ReCycle LIVE! So grab your bikes and ride down to the Center! There will be lots of fun for the little ones with clowns and a party hopper, bicycle contests, safety checks and the chance to wine a bicycle from Performance Bikes. Plus, the Jumbo Slide from last year is back again! Then the season wraps up with the Classic Car Show on August 20th, which is a fundraiser for the Lincoln High Alumni Association and always sure to be a great time! Oh and don’t forget about Dad this month! Father’s Day is June 17th and we’ve got some great gift ideas on page 12. Get out and enjoy the sunshine! And to Campbell’s- you will be missed.

The Whole-Body Approach to Healthy Inammation Response* Inammation is a natural process in the body—part of the immune system doing its job. There’s inammation we can feel, such as in the neck, back, or joints. There’s also “silentâ€? inammation happening inside the body. We may not be able to feel it, but this inammation can affect our every organ and cell. That’s why a healthy inammation response is key for whole body health, including joint and cardiovascular health. For optimal wellness, we can help support a healthy inammation process every day.* Conventional supplements intended to support a healthy inammation response may require taking many tablets—up to 12 a day. Some

conventional products are made with byproducts from animal processing, featuring enzymes that are sourced from pigs and cows. Conventional products may also be made with manufactured chemical isolates. Zyamend is an intelligent blend of full-spectrum herbal extracts containing hundreds of naturally occurring components. These whole, active phytonutrients work together to promote a healthy inammation response.* Just as important as a daily multvitamin, Zyamend from New Chapter is the patented herbal protocol to help your whole body’s natural inammation process stay balanced and healthy every single day.*

Sporting Take Me Out to the Ball Game

giving away Presidential Seat Cushions and hosting a postgame fireworks show Friday night, and former A’s legend Jose Canseco will be making an appearance at Banner Island Ballpark Saturday night.

ummer is finally here and the Stockton Ports season is already two months underway! The Ports managed to squeeze in a number of exciting promotions and events in the months of April and May – four spectacular fireworks shows, appearances by former A’s greats, Dave Henderson and Eric Byrnes, Johnny Cash Tribute Night and a Michael Choice Bobblehead giveaway; just to name a few! June is an exciting month for the Ports as they feature many great giveaways and promotions in three separate homestands. The month starts off with a bang – post-game fireworks that is – when the Ports take on the San Jose Giants on June 2nd! June 15th and 16th mark a can’t-miss weekend for fans as the Ports will be

OH, IT’S SUMMER TIME. Little League Games, backyard BBQs and picnics in the park! Wonderful gatherings, coupled with lots of yummy food, means soda cans and water bottles going into the trash. Keep a trash bag handy so all of those recyclable materials can be gathered. And at the end of the day drop them off at the recycling center, add to your curbside recycling, or better yet, give to the neighborhood little league team to cash in for their “Championship Game” party! It’s easy. Recycle.

The fun continues all the way through the end of June when the Ports face off against Visalia Rawhide on the 28th, 29th, and 30th. On Friday the 29th, the Ports will be giving away iPads to five lucky fans Ports players autograph posters in attendance! Saturday, June 30th marks the date for what is sure to be a special night at Banner Island Ballpark, as the Ports honor Doug Wilhoit, the CEO of the Stockton Chamber of Commerce, with a one‐of‐a‐kind Garden Gnome giveaway to the first 1,000 fans! The Ports are teaming up with the Stockton Chamber of Commerce to raise funds and awareness for three local non‐profit agencies and celebrate many of the positives of Stockton! Ports fans will be in for a show all summer long as several young exciting prospects take the field, including top Athletics prospects Miles Head and Max Stassi. Infielder Miles Head joined the Ports this season after being picked up in the trade with the Boston Red Sox for Andrew Bailey and Ryan Sweeney. The 21-year old has made a strong debut in Stockton, leading the team and ranking among the best in the California League offensively. Catcher Max Stassi is back behind the plate for the Ports, after recovering from a shoulder surgery that left him out for much of the 2011 season. You don’t want to miss out on watching these two, as well as the rest of the Ports play at Banner Island Ballpark this summer! Ports tickets are available at the box office, by calling (209) 6441900 or online at Ports fans are in for an exciting summer of baseball as the Boys of Banner Island hunt for their 12th California League Championship, and they hope to see you at the ballpark cheering them on all season long!
