Feltham Feltham is a town in the London Borough of Hounslow approximately 13 miles from central London. Government data shows that Feltham is in the lowest quintile for Higher Education access. Only 20% of young people go on to university, compared to 60% in the nearby affluent district of Osterley. Exacerbating this situation, Feltham’s community has been badly impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic. It suffered the highest furlough rate in the country as a result of its reliance on local employer, Heathrow Airport. Importantly, Feltham is a community whose young people are struggling to find local education that meets their needs and allows them to realise their full potential.
Feltham College will initially offer prioritised admission to young people living within a 1.5 mile radius. Following this, offers will be made to those living within 3 miles of the college.
Only 20% of young people here go on to university. It is a community where young people are not currently realising their potential.
