“Chandlings delivers outstanding results and feeds top senior schools. Parents find it friendly and inclusive, ‘children are happier than I’ve ever seen them.’ ” GOOD SCHOOLS GUIDE
HAPPINESS HAPPENS EVERY DAY At Chandlings, we believe in providing high academic standards within an exciting and relaxed environment. We offer your children the opportunity to experience a wide range of activities and make the most of their talents, whether academic, sporting, musical or creative. I feel so proud and privileged to begin each working day by greeting everyone at the front gates – seeing our children literally skip into school is a reward in itself. They are curious, confident, empathetic, polite and articulate, as you will see for yourselves when you visit. Our unique and diverse atmosphere comes from the warmth and vibrancy that radiates from happy children. Be assured that your son or daughter will be valued as an individual by teachers who will care for them with genuine empathy and respect. Above all we are a happy school with happy children that achieves great results.

LITTLE VICTORIES EVERY DAY
A Growth Mindset philosophy is intrinsic to all that we do at Chandlings. Whether it be learning to do your buttons up in Nursery, experiencing that light-bulb moment in maths or improving skills in drama, sport and music. We encourage our children to try to aim high.
“Much use is made of the grounds, even for academic teaching – we saw three lessons taking place outside during our visit: forest school, maths and a serious English class recreating a text in the Bluebell Woods.” GOOD SCHOOLS GUIDE
LEARNING ADVENTURES EVERY DAY We are blessed to be set in 60 blissful acres of grounds and we believe our children deserve to make the most of them - by playing and exploring these natural surroundings. We spend a lot of school time outdoors in lessons, playing, or taking part in the numerous clubs and activities before, during and after school. In fact, being outdoors is integral to everything we do. Our children enjoy regular lunchtime picnics under their year group’s specially adopted tree. Meanwhile the Nursery has its own designated woodland area for learning and play. The older children spend time in the Bluebell Woods where they’re free to build dens and explore. They can also pond-dip from the pontoon, use the purpose-built bird hide, test their skills on our low ropes course or visit the bee hives and pygmy goats. It’s all part of letting our children discover what they love and excel at when outside the classroom. At Chandlings learning really does happen everywhere.
INSPIRING DISCOVERIES EVERY DAY
We strive to deepen, enthuse and extend all pupils’ knowledge, inspiring and fostering curiosity, building selfesteem and confidence. A broad and balanced curriculum, specialist teaching and carefully tailored work for each child enables them to make the best possible progress. Our wonderful facilities and resources as well as extensive grounds, encourage the children to explore, problem-solve, build, create, collaborate and communicate. By the time they leave us at the end of Prep to go on to the next stage of their education, they will have developed essential skills for the future.
“Pupils’ achievement is excellent, including in the EYFS. The school provides pupils with a strong education foundation to gain a life-long love of learning.” ISI REPORT
SHARING EXPERIENCES EVERY DAY At Chandlings, we offer over 60 different activities to suit all of our children. Our aim is that by Year 6, each child has found several interests, outside of the academic curriculum, that they may continue to pursue in the future. Some clubs, such as ballet and LAMDA work towards graded examinations, while others offer new experiences and the chance to have fun.
“The extra-curricular programme greatly enriches pupils’ learning experiences and achievement across a range of physical, aesthetic, creative, technological and academic interests.” ISI REPORT
WORKING TOGETHER EVERY DAY
Excellent pastoral care is at the heart of our school. Every child is valued as an individual and our experienced team work together and always make the time to listen to and support the children. Our House system encourages interaction between year groups, providing opportunities for children to come together for school-wide activities. A diverse range of excursions complement the rich academic, cultural and sporting curriculum. Children are nurtured and cherished as part of the Chandlings family.

OVERCOMING OBSTACLES EVERY DAY
Life is full of challenges and obstacles that need to be overcome. At Chandlings we allow children to make mistakes and not fear failure. This sets them on the path towards resilience by acquiring the confidence to take on new experiences. They learn how to persevere and bounce back from disappointment in order to achieve success.
“The staff are the key - inspiring and caring, very good focus on wellbeing and building emotional resilience.” PARENT
FORGING FRIENDSHIPS EVERY DAY
From their very first day in Nursery to when they finally leave in Year 6, the wellbeing of each child is at the heart of everything we do. Our school values are woven into our pastoral programme. Whether they visit the Friendship Hut, take part in a mindfulness lesson or simply enjoy being outdoors, your child’s mental health is our priority.
