They connect the deliver tubes in the armature to the circular panel in dwellings vertically and horizontally. These tubes are full-functional , which means they share the full functions with the deliver system in the armature such as living materal delivery and water recycling.

These tubes form a new space pattern in each apartment. They could be part of furnitures or even walls, windows and doors.

This is a combination of current pipes systerm. inculding power lines, water ducts, ventilation ducts, electricity wires, network cable, and recycling lines.

his project is based on the previous urban design project: CONSUMPTION CITY. In this design, we analyze the feasibility of the application of the new consumption system in CONSUMPTION CITY. In the meantime, a new life style is forming, which becomes the counterevidence of a new kind of expenditure of time, money and even space.

When pipes become common form in an apartment, we decide that it is time not to hide all of them including all pipes from municipal pipeline system. Actually they become the new ceiling. The form of them give the inner space more chance to be arranged. Seeing from the view of section, the crisscross of pipes are layered and they can reach most of the place in rooms.

The overhead pipelines are supported by this construction. It goes radially from the core structure.

Some deliver pipes have closed relationship with other furnitures. So they could become part of them, such as tables, chairs, closets and so on.

These pipes are not negligible or ugly now. They escape from the above-ceiling space and become the, we could say, most important ‘furniture’ at home.

Some pipelines can even become part of space divider, such as walls, doors, and windows.

esponsive building facade is an emerging field in architectural research and design. Recent advancedments in sensory and motion-control technologies enable building envelopes to adapt their forms to real-time environmental conditions, solar exposure or user driven data sets. Controlled daylight conditions affect people’s moods, work efficiency, and also help to save energy. With an increasing demand for ‘smart’ living and working environments, our

project is focusing on a daylight responsive facade system that could be applied to various buiSlding typologies. Our ‘blooming‘ pattern originates from the folding logic of origami. It changes shapes from a triangle to a hexagon shaped unit to maximize the difference between extended and folded state. Our unit is dynamically oscillating between extended and porous state to compensate for daylight and weather conditions.

We had been focusing on mapping planar and cylindrical building geometries with our kinetic system as second skin applied on standard glass curtain facades.

ideo and projection mapping were the final presentation formats. We recorded the actress’s performances with green screen in advance and composited the pod transformation stream and action stream together with chroma key tool in After Effect. So the final video showed nearlly all the predictable situations happening in the pod. With projection mapping, our team acted in the full size mock-up to give the audience a real interaction between people’s postures/ motions and the space.

People’s sight from the Building of Architcture and Art goes directly to the lawn, which makes it uncomfortable for people to stay in the green space. But at the same time, the small park where our site sit on provides a great view for people in the building. Meanwhile, the site is a great entry for students to walk through and enter the building from the main road in the east of site.

his project was launched by one of my classmate and me. Our aim was to take fully advantage of this site and to propose a fresh site for our department to hold events. During the design of this project we surveyed and analyzed multiple factors that might influence the site and then decided to build a semiopaque pavilion. We also did a lot of researches on human body and structure details. We

adjusted the non-linear outline of pavilion to generate three benches. For the common use, one of them is for public flowline, and the other two are face to face and used by people who want to have a private conversation. To keep the seats comfortable, we doubled the density of the slices in the sitting area. We also carefully designed the height and the curvature of interior space which had closed realationship with body movement when people stand inside. As for material, we chose PVC foamed board, a type of material that is light, tough, economic, water-resistant, fireproof, and durable. By assembling the

whole structure with steal pipes, hoops, shims, and PVC pipes, we built a structure with two characters: intensity and tenacity. These properties helped pavilion perfectly match the fluctuant topography of the site as a stable structural system. Except for being a traditional pavilion,

Cocoon Pavilion could also be used as stage, catwalk, display hall and gathering spot as well. Now It is permanently exhibited at the small park near the east entrance of Building of Architecture and Art in my college.

everal months later, when our team went back to check the installation, we found that the SCM board was stolen. To maintain the function of the cube, we decided to fix it. ARDUINO open-source board was already well-developed by then. So we

thought that maybe this time we can make it even more interesting and interactive with the help of different units, including ultrasonic unit to detect the distance between people and the cube, infrared unit to detect human body’s existence, microphone unit to detect the noise that people are making, and power transformer

that turns 220v alternating current into direct current. By coding in ARDUINO software, We made the cube sensitive to those signals above, and was able to turn those signals into different types of patterns again, but this time, more complex.

itherto, nearly all artificial structure are rectangular shaped figure, in order to overcome the great nature’s violence and to be built easily. But we are made by god with curve: every part of our body is of curved figure. From the caves in the mountains where our ancestors lived in to the womb where we’d lived before our born, streamlined space makes it comfortable and snug for us to be in

That’s how the concept comes to us. What if we build a space that has a strong combination of both rectangular figure and streamlined inner space? Would that result in a perfect form of both existing and utilize? Given the mission to build a device that could motivate the atmosphere of the hall of Building of Architecture and Art, we designed the 2-meter-high interactive cube, which could sparkle its facade with the current rhythm as long as you plug in a music player to it.

ur firm rented an old factory as the new office and We needed to accomplish inner design and reconstruction in two months so that we could move on time. My boss and I as designers were in charge of both design and communication with construction contractor. In this case, we were faced with many practical challenges. So we had made a accurate survey based model and did a lot of detail design with rendering to get foreknowledge before the construction.
