FIELD TRIPS The weekly camp fee includes any admission and transportation costs associated with field trips. All campers will be transported using Prince William County School buses with certified drivers. Field trips and activities are subject to change. SWIM LESSON OPTIONS Enjoy the benefit of enrolling your child into a 2-week group swim lesson while attending the same two weeks of camp. Our camp staff will escort your child to and from their lesson. Sites that offer this option are: Birchdale, Chinn, Sharron Baucom Dale City and Veterans Park. This option has a separate program fee and registration process. Class listings will be online and in Leisure Magazine mid-April. STAFFING We take pride in employing highly qualified and trained camp staff. Each camp counselor is at least 18 years old and has successfully completed PWCPA’s pre-season and specified on-site training programs. Criminal background checks are conducted on all staff affiliated with our camp programs. CPR/AED, First Aid, and Bloodborne Pathogens Training are mandatory certifications for all counselors.

“The counselors have excellent personalities for this type of work, which makes the kids even more engaged in wanting to attend and participate.”

!

The full day camp offerings you will find in this guide are filled with fun and excitement! Each of our camp locations has a unique appeal, but all camps share the common goal of providing high quality and safe programs. If you are searching for a partial day or specialty mini camp program, the complete listing of those camps will be available in our Spring/Summer edition of Leisure magazine, due out mid April, and on our web site.

EXTENDED CARE OPTIONS All listed camps are full day (9am-5pm) unless otherwise noted in the camp description. To meet the needs of our customers we also provide supervised care of your child before and after full day camp program hours. For an additional weekly fee, your child’s day can begin as early as 6am and extend as late as 7pm. Options included are $20/before care only, $20/after care only or $40/both.

INCLUSION PWCPA programs are inclusion based activities. We make every effort to work with families to mainstream children with special needs into any of our programs. All children must be able to maintain personal care to participate in our camp programs. At this time, the PWCPA does not offer any specialized programming for children with special needs. To request any type of accommodation for your child, you must submit a written request form at least 15 business days prior to the start of the program to the camp manager of the site where you wish to register your child. Contact information and written request form can be found on our camp website at www.pwcparks.org. Once a written request is received, you will be contacted to schedule an assessment meeting to further discuss the needs of your child.

“My son has autism; each summer PWCPA and the Dale City camp staff have provided an additional counselor just for him. They have made his summer experience invaluable! Thank you so much.”
