SPRING SPORTS MOVING FAST

• The fast-pitch softball and Little League seasons are about to hit the halfway point in the spring season.

There are still many games left to play with playoffs, championship games and summer All-Stars on the calendar

The middle school sports season begins soon with softball, girls’ flag football and boys’ volleyball on the schedule.

• A few teams are aiming for an undefeated season as the spring season hits the half-way point. Currently, each division has an undefeated team sitting in first place. However, there are still plenty of games left for any team to get on a hot streak and make a challenge for the first-place trophy.

Baseball Set For A Working Spring Break

Little League

• Spring Break offers teams and players a week of solid practice and preparation for the second half of the season.

The Lunada Bay Padres and Rolling Hills Brewers, both from the Minors Division, are the only two teams with a chance to finish the season with undefeated records.

The Phillies have taken an early control of the PV Little League Major Division, while most other divisions in other leagues are still wide open for anyone to take first place.

So far local big hitters have been quiet this season, with only a total of three home runs making it over the fence at PV Little League this season.

Koa Zayti leads the Lunada Bay Majors Rangers against the PV Little League Orioles at home.
No Losses Yet . . . The Marlins and Padres battled for first place in Lunada Bay Minors Division action finishing with a 3-3 tie.
Phillies Prove A Tough Out . . . The Lunada Bay White Sox (5-3) go up against the Palos Verdes Phillies (6-1) in Major Division action last week.

A Short Lived Pickle Play . . . The Mets and Padres battle in Intermediate Division action at Lunada Bay Little League.

Silver Spur In The Game . . . The Silver Spur Dodgers battle the Lomita Pirates in Major Division action at Ernie Howlett Park.
