Peninsula Honors New Eagle Scout
Boy Scout Troop 276 awarded the rank of Eagle Scout to Lucas Ho over the summer at the Eagle Scout Court of Honor ceremoney at Hesse Park.
Lucas earned 22 Merit Badges throughout his time with Troop 276the Mountain Men.
Lucas’ Eagle Scout Project, Honor to Our Flags, was designing as two flag retirement boxes to provide the Peninsula communities and others a method to respectfully dispose of their worn-out American Flags.
They were donated to the city of Rancho Palos Verdes: One at City Hall and one at Fred Hesse Community Park. The boxes were built with the help of his team, a total of 81 volunteer hours. Two 48” w x 96” h boxes were carefully crafted of Baltic birch wood and meticulously wrapped with 40’ x 63” vinyl artwork. He also coordinated with the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the USA and established procedures for Troop 276 to sustain flag retirement efforts. — email reports
