Just Tonight Music Video Treatment
And here I am Watching the clock that's ticking away my time I'm too numb to feel right now
Overview This is a cinematic video featuring powerful empathetic acting dramatic performances It is held together by an memorable structural twist. An M. Night Shyamalan like connection between the performance and the narrative.
Cast 1. Male lead: Capable of intense emotion and total conviction. This performance is central to the video. It not only drives the narrative, but also as you will see the lead physically drives Taylor!s performance in a tour de force piece of filmmaking. Its a challenging acting role, playing a range of complex emotions while both denying and physically confronting death herself. 2. Female Lead. Suicide girl. Rail thin beauty. Again a physically demanding role, though really a vessel for compassion and empathy. 3. The Pretty Reckless The band perform the song. Taylor!s performance mirrors the physical aspects of the lead girl!s story in a magical realist way.
Story Start the car and take me home... We begin with Taylor in a hotel room or apartment at night. The room is solitary and minimalist. The band are playing in same the room as Taylor. Though they are all in the same room there is no connection between the band members.

Music Video Treatment cont Reference David Lynch and Cronenberg. Portraits. Cinematic use of light and shadow, desaturated color. It feels real, but also like a movie. Psychological tension. Taylor looks down from the window to see a car pulling up down below. We cut to a young couple pulling up to the hotel or apartment. The man is concerned because his thin tattooed Suicide Girl girlfriend is clearly way beyond wasted. Just tonight I will stay and we!ll throw it all away... As he struggles to get her out of the car the Girlfriend slips and staggers crashing into the door. Intercut with this footage we see Taylor watching from above in the hotel room, her performance movements unconsciously and uncontrollably mimicking the skinny dark girl down below. It is as though Taylor and the girl are driven by the same motion capture data. This strange empathic twin poltergeist relationship between Taylor and the Suicide Girl builds throughout the video. The couple go up to their apartment or hotel room. The girl is clearly about to pass out. The man shakes her violently in an effort to keep her awake. We understand that there is love between them. It could be her doing this to him on another night. It may well have happened just like this. Taylor!s body shakes in the same way. She is sitting on the bed now. Bare feet jeans and tee shirt. Inside the room the man hands her a glass of water, she lets it slip out of her hand. It falls to the floor and smashes in slo mo. In Taylor!s parallel world this action manifests as water and ice tumble and slide on the floor around her feet.

The girl collapses on the bed. The guy pulls her up and slaps her across the face, Taylor!s head moves suddenly as though it was she who took the slap. A red hand print fades up on her cheek. As we see more of the apartment room it becomes clear that just as the actions are mirrored the space itself it is in many ways a replica of the space Taylor and the band are in. The man is panicking now and drags the girl across the floor to the bathroom. Turns on the shower and sprays water onto the semiconscious girls head. Taylor!s hair and face are dripping wet all of a sudden. The guy leaves the girl in the bath and runs off to get a bag of ice. He fills the bath with Ice tThe guy lowers the girl into the bath as she she sinks into the tub we see Taylor!s wardrobe become wet in a distinct horizontal line moving up her body as the girl sinks below the waterline. Taylor starts to shiver because of the ice. The man turns on the shower. Water more pours over Taylor. We don!t see the source of the water above Taylor. It a miracle manifestation of water in Taylor!s space. The man goes back to the bedroom and makes a phone call. Its that one phone-call you never want to make as it will have all kinds of repercussions. But if you don!t make it you are finished as a human being. He turns to look at the bathroom door and sees water spilling out towards him under the door. He runs back to the bathroom, doing a power-slide on the wet floor. Only to find she her floating below the surface. She has entered the dream, and wont come back. He pulls her out of the icy bath and holds her lifeless body in his arms. 3 Šmeiertavis 2010

Broken hearted with grief. He tries to resuscitate her there on the cold wet bathroom floor. What follows is a totally heartbreaking travesty of lovemaking, Kiss and touch become hopeless desperation. Finally her eyes open and she gasps for air and chokes out a lungful of water. He has saved her life. All this action is echoed in various physical ways in Taylor!s performance using practical FX techniques. We know its not real, but the empathic bond in Taylor!s performance is so strong that it seems real. The psychological effect is disturbing and quite scary. Its a very memorable tour de force performance video. Elegantly styled and lit, beautifully shot. We would hope to cast one or more celebrities to play the man and woman. At no time would it be implied that Taylor herself was intoxicated. This is magical realist storytelling. She is the narrator.
