ITALIAN WAX

100% mineral wax for walls and furniture to protect and make water repellant

Introduction Italian Wax is a natural transparent wax to bring more depth and nuances to colours on walls. After polishing, it creates a glossy effect and makes the surface water repellent. Italian Wax is specifically suitable for use on Fresco lime paint, Marrakech Walls, slaked lime based stucco, and other mineral foundations. The wax can also be used to protect wood and furniture. The wax is transparent by default and is matt when dry. Buffing and polishing with a clean cotton cloth creates a gloss finish and deepens the colour. Italian Wax can be applied on various surfaces. It makes the surface water repellant, deepens the colour nuances and gives a matte or glossy look. The Italian Wax can not be applied on horizontal surfaces. Repeat treatment when needed. Most important characteristics

• Practically odourless • High gloss/polishable • Hypoallergenic • VOC free • Water repellent with pearl effect • Easy to clean • Natural product • Easy to process

Application

• Fresco lime paint • Classico chalk paint • Marrakech Walls • Tadelakt • Stucco’s based on calcined lime • Mineral substrates • Untreated wood • Lime plaster • Concrete and concrete substrates • Surfaces up to 60°C (not behind the stove)

Preparation Most painting problems derive from bad preparation or application. The surface that you are going to paint should be clean, dry, free of dust and fat. Due to a good surface preparation, you can help the paint system with long-term protection. 1. Stir the Italian Wax well. Dilution is not necessary. 2. Apply in 1 or more layers, depending on the desired application. For the water repellent of walls, apply at least 2 layers. 3. Apply the Italian Wax with a clean cotton cloth, using a circular motion, or use a polish machine. Respect the drying time of minimal 12 hours between the of layers. Lime paint, chalk-based paint and/or Marrakech Walls should at least be 7 - 10 days old before applying Italian Wax. Be aware: Start by creating a test piece. Surface wood: clean and degrease, sand and leave to dry. If the surface has wood grains, apply the wax and follow with a brush, working the wax into the wood grains. Cleaning Clean hands and tools immediately after use with soap and water. If the Italian Wax is applied on surfaces in the bathroom and kitchen, clean with a mild detergent, no aggressive degreasing agents.
