to the authorities of Police Regional Office 8 on December 8, 2020 was formally presented during the Command Visit of PGEN DEBOLD MENORIAS SINAS, Chief, Philippine National Police on February 6, 2021 at Camp Kangleon, Palo, Leyte.

She also testified that joining the said group comes the risk of wasting lives to nonsensical struggle, losing parents and/or children due to untimely deaths. Further, she resented that becoming a competent police officer has become a distant dream due to the poor decisions she have made while under the said armed group, thus she was not able to help her family. Along with her in the presentation of Former Rebels (FR) were the thirtyeight (38) others who made their way back to the fold of the government from the last quarter of 2020. The Police Regional Office 8 under the lead of PBGEN RONALDO F DE JESUS, Regional Director, has been relentless in the campaign against insurgency and terrorism. Based on record, PRO 8 has a high number of New People’s Army (NPA) surrenderees from October 1, 2020 to February 2, 2021. Out of this number, Fifteen (15) are High Ranking officials under different commands and committees namely: Alias Vien, Budget Officer; Alias Michael, Finance Officer; Alias Soyang, Secretary General of People Surge Alliance-Samar; Alias Unyang, Organizer of GABRIELA; Alias Manny, Political Instructor; Alias Rod, Squad Leader; Alias Yeye, Chairman ANAKPAWIS; Alias Tonio, Vice-platoon Leader; Alias Babi, Finance Officer and Team Leader; Alias Jai, Organizer of KABATAAN; Alias Bebot, Squad Leader; Alias Madi, Recruiter,Organizer of KABATAAN and GABRIELLA; Alias Reden, Finance Officer and Squad Leader; Alias Ka Joseph,Commanding Officer, Squad Leader, and Intelligence Officer; and Alias Ka Jay, Chairman, Barangay Organisasyon sa Partido. Along with their surrender, they also turned-in Thirty (30) assorted firearms, One hundred sixty-two (162) ammunition and Seventeen (17) magazines. This increasing number of CTG members yielding back to the fold of law indicates that more and more anti-government individuals have finally come to their senses and realized the deceptive intentions of the armed wing. These surrenderees have high hopes of starting their lives anew by taking oath of allegiance to the government. They have decided to leave their nonsensical struggle after knowing that their comrades who have submitted themselves to the authorities are now having a good and renewed life. Said surrenderees were facilitated by the implementation of Executive Order No.70 through the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) and in consonance to the program thrust of PGEN DEBOLD M SINAS, CPNP to intensify its internal security operations (ISO) thru the Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP). Indeed, their reintegration to the government is the best decision they have ever made as they welcome genuine development for peace and progress! Hand-inhand, we will be able to attain true peace that we have long been waiting for!
