KALAYAAN: BREAKING THE CHAINS OF DECEIT event, PRO 8 gives value to the freedom and liberty of Former Rebels (FRs) immured from the deceptive antigovernment creeds of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army-National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF). As part of their community reintegration, a government-initiated program called Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) is being launch to facilitate FRs who want to return to the fold of the law and start their lives anew. The emergence of left-leaning rebel groups had created an awful repercussion on public safety and community development and further brought contentions among citizens. Their false doctrines were sheerly fabricated to discredit administration’s efforts and conduct smear campaign against the Philippine government –all for their personal gains and egocentric advances. Their members are mobilized to recruit more people targeting most often weak-minded, neglected and underprivileged having little or no knowledge on the overarching efforts of the government in promoting peace and development. The government, thru the activation of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC), is in hopes of obtaining unity bringing lasting peace and sustainable development to the communities across the board.

ilipinos observe Independence Day every 12th of June to commemorate the Philippine Declaration of Independence Day from the seemingly endless Spanish oppression. It was indeed an impactful immemorial event as the unimaginable slavery brought by Spanish domination to our people over a long time period had finally settled when our fellowmen nobly fought and stood on their ground against the foreign invaders. In assent with the celebration of the said historic

Creating division amplifies turmoil, advocates being unpatriotic as it raises gap and conflict, and further promotes rebellion. As citizens of this country, we should be pooling resources together to counter false accusations of these guerillas and disrupt fights among our co-brethren. Likewise, we must considerately address the source of their predicaments and protests and try to resolve the disagreements and misunderstandings. At the end of this, we look forward into protracting armed confrontation to loosen up the public from fears and worries, breaking the chains of deceit devised by these Communist Terrorist Groups and instead forge camaraderie and solidarity among Filipino people, free from attacks and armed conflicts.

PBGEN BANAC extends his gratitude to all life coaches of PRO 8 as they play a big role in bringing out change in the PNP. “They are a ‘force multiplier’ for our transformation that is being achieved through the internal disciplinary mechanism and the internal cleansing program. They support the officers with prayers, moral and spiritual development, family counsel, and career development towards excellence in service ultimately towards community development and their service towards peace and order. The PNP has been weak in promoting moral and spiritual development that will keep pace with skills training and development. This program is designed to balance and correct this need,” he said. The training serves as a preliminary activity of the Police Community Relations (PCR) Month celebration for the month of July.
