Programme of Events Mini Stadium Tours of Twickenham Stadium We are thrilled to have partnered with Twickenham Stadium to offer our Excursions visitors an extra special experience whilst at the show. Visitors will have access to the award‑winning World Rugby Museum during their visit to the show, as well enjoying a pre‑booked a mini‑tour of Twickenham Stadium, taking you pitch‑side and with exclusive access to the England Dressing Room. The World Rugby Museum is home to the 2003 Webb Ellis Trophy, the Calcutta Cup, the world’s oldest international football jersey and fully interactive Games Zone where you can test your sporting ability. I​n 2021, the stadium celebrated ‘150 Years of the Rugby Football Union’. This special exhibition, that celebrates the birth of rugby’s oldest governing body, is still based in the museum and is accessible to visitors attending the show. For your pre-booked mini-stadium tours go to the ‘tour meeting point’ in the Rose Suite (see map on page 25) five minutes before your allocated time. If you haven’t pre-booked, pop along to the desk to see if they have any slots available.

Theatreland At this year’s Excursions we have teamed up with LW Theatres to present a special theatreland feature. See costumes and props from iconic West End shows!

Visit Windsor & The Royal Collection Trust 2022 marks the extraordinary milestone of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. The Royal Collection Trust will also be informing visitors about the three special displays to be staged at the official royal residences in 2022, marking significant occasions in Her Majesty’s reign.

Shakespeare’s England Shakespeare’s Birthplace will be open throughout 2022 with Anne Hathaway’s Cottage and Shakespeare’s New Place reopening for a longer season from 26 March to 30 October 2022, seven days a week. Visitors will be treated to a new exhibition at Shakespeare’s Birthplace plus the return of on‑site programmes, including live Shakespearian performances.

Mersey Ferries New for 2022, Mersey Ferries has scheduled a number of cruises, which will sail out into Liverpool Bay, allowing passengers to take in the scenery and discover the fascinating history of the area.

From March 2022 and on the 300th anniversary of his death, Blenheim Palace will be celebrating the life and achievements of John Churchill, 1st Duke of Marlborough, with an immersive exhibition, talks, tours, a battle re‑enactment, concert, themed activities and events.

In Summer 2022, take a fresh look at the life and literature of the Victorian novelist Thomas Hardy at the Wessex Museums. The major exhibition across four venues will be the largest collection of Hardy objects ever displayed at one time and will retell his story in exciting new ways.

Described by Sir Winston Churchill as Britain’s greatest ever general, Marlborough’s victories over Louis XIV forever changed the face of Europe.

Toureasy The UK’s first and only carbon neutral coach tour operator, Toureasy will be sharing details of their unique Ultimate James Bond Experience at the fabulous four star Mercure London Bridge Hotel with group leaders — a thrilling three day tour of the capital including James Bond specialist guided tour and thrilling Ultimate Spy Experience Thames speedboat ride.

Visit Portsmouth Arena Travel With a choice of departure dates between May and October 2022, Arena Rail Holidays are offering five‑day tours to the Netherlands that include visiting the once‑in‑a‑decade Floriade Horticultural Expo; showcasing the very best from the gardening world. Leonardslee Lakes & Gardens The new Anton Smit ‘The Walk of Life’ Exhibition is now open at Leonardslee Lakes & Gardens. The collaboration between Leonardslee and renowned South African sculptor, Anton Smit is an extensive showcase of the artist’s contemporary sculpture and life works. Comprised of over 50 monumental works, including large‑scale bronze, resin and steel sculptures thoughtfully placed in harmony within the woodland gardens. Leonardslee Lakes & Gardens is also inviting visitors at the show to experience a unique tasting of award‑winning wines from our sister estate, Benguela Cove Lagoon Wine Estate in South Africa. From Spring 2022, groups can book guided tours of the city’s newest attraction LCT7074; the last surviving Landing Craft Tank that took part in the D‑Day Landings. Groups can benefit from a special joint‑ticket to also include a visit to the Spinnaker Tower to take in the spectacular views over Portsmouth Harbour and beyond.


Exhibitor Highlights Visit Essex Hedingham Castle is offering great new experiences in 2022 from indulgent accommodation to a unique escape room located in the top of the castle’s keep. Gather your group together to solve the clues and puzzles to escape. Or take a new eco‑friendly train rides to the end of Southend Pier — the world’s longest pleasure pier — to enjoy a bite to eat at the newly refurbished Royal Pavilion Restaurant & Bar offering 360‑degree vistas of the Thames Estuary.

Greenwich’s historic Nelson Room will Reopen in March 2022 When Vice‑Admiral Lord Nelson died in 1805 at the Battle of Trafalgar, his body was brought to Greenwich Hospital, now known as the Old Royal Naval College, where it was prepared for his lying‑in‑state. Today the imposing ‘Nelson Room’ is undergoing a dramatic transformation; being carefully restored, conserved and the story around Nelson and his connection to Greenwich explained.

Visit 1066 There are lots of newly opened attractions in 1066 Country for groups to discover in 2022. The British Tea Museum celebrates the customs and manners of British teatime with teatime master classes and exhibitions. The new visitor centres are welcome additions to the Rye Harbour Nature Reserve and Hastings Country Park. Plus there’s the revamped Rye Heritage Centre, new sculpture trail and Soar Tour — a virtual reality ride over the 1066 Country coastline.

The Royal Mint Experience & South Wales Attractions The Royal Mint Experience is one of Wales’ top attractions with exhibitions, tours, creative workshops, guest speakers and interactive ways to explore its traditions.
