HEALTHY EATING AND WELL-BEING FOR THE COMPLEMENTARY THERAPY CLIENT COMPLEMENTARY THERAPIES LEVEL 3 AWARD HEALTHY EATING AND WELL-BEING FOR THE COMPLEMENTARY THERAPY CLIENT Nutrition is an important factor in maintaining health & wellbeing. A range of nutrients are essential for each body system to function healthily. Fluid is also an importance factor for these chemical processes to work, to aid our immune system & fight off infection. An understanding of nutrition is a valuable tool for the therapist, & offers additional support for the regular client.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: An introduction into anatomy, physiology and pathology are pre-requisites to this qualification.

The VTCT Level 3 Award in Healthy Eating & Wellbeing for the Complementary Therapy Client is knowledge-based qualification aimed at complementary therapists. COURSE CONTENT: This qualification will develop your knowledge and understanding of the role and sources of nutrients required for a balanced diet to maintain good health. Furthermore, you will learn how to provide general information on healthy eating.

This qualification will provide you with the skills to promote healthy eating in your everyday practice as a complementary therapist.

TRAINING SCHEDULE: Training plans will be devised to suite your individual needs. There will be some home study before your attendance at the centre for delivery of the theory knowledge. Once competence has been reached, you will attend the final assessments of theory knowledge.

All evidence should be documented in the portfolio & cross-referenced to unit outcomes. Constructing the portfolio of evidence should not be left to the end of the course. Many frequently asked questions & other useful information are detailed in the VTCT Candidate’s Handbook, which is available on the VTCT website. Other questions should be addressed to the tutor, lecturer or assessor.

ASSESSMENT: Continuous assessment by means of written work , case studies & assignments will contribute to your portfolio of evidence. A learning plan with dates for assessment will be agreed by you & your tutor on enrolment. As part of this qualification you are required to produce a portfolio of evidence. A portfolio will confirm the knowledge, understanding & skills that you have learnt. It may be in electronic or paper format. Your assessor will provide guidance on how to prepare the

PROGRESSION: There are a range of Complementary Therapy qualifications at Level 3 or 4 that can add to your range of treatments to offer clients, or go for the complete L3 Diploma in Complementary Therapies.
