Mission Statement The main goal of the Meredith Parks & Recreation Department is to provide recreational and leisure activities for the community at large, and for people of all ages. This is accomplished by working with the schools, Senior Center, commercial establishments, and community volunteers to create organized programs and self-guided recreational opportunities.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION The General Program Registration form can be found at the end of this booklet as well as on the Town website, Please note the changes made to the General Registration form regarding the use of pictures taken during our programs. If you do not want your picture used for any purpose please indicate so on your registration. • Program registration will be held as stated in each program description. • Payment is due at the time of registration. • All programs may require scheduling and modification based on registration. • Please review this brochure thoroughly and make note of registration times. • Late registrations will not be accepted. • Meredith residents and taxpayers receive priority in all programs. • Non-residents are welcome to register during non-resident registration times and will be admitted into

programs as space allows. • Registration is based on a first-come, first-served, PAID basis. • Proof of residency may be required. • Please note that registration for programs that require proof of age must be done in person or by including a copy

of the participant’s birth certificate with the registration form. • Program brochures are available at The Meredith Community Center, and be viewed on the Town website, • No telephone registrations accepted unless otherwise noted. • Checks payable to: Town of Meredith. • Bring completed registration forms and fees to:

FINANCIAL HELP The Parks and Recreation Department attempts to keep its fees affordable for all residents. If you have an unusual financial situation that limits participation, please contact the General Assistance Office located at the Meredith Town Hall to make arrangements. 279-4538. CANCELLATIONS The Parks and Recreation Department reserves the right to cancel or consolidate any program that does not meet the minimum participant registration requirements. REFUNDS All requests for refunds must be submitted in writing to the Parks and Recreation Department. Refunds are only given if the Parks and Recreation Department cancels the program or for extenuating medical reasons. Refunds will be prorated for medical reasons. SERVING THE COMMUNITY The Parks and Recreation Department and staff provide programs for all members of the community. If you or your child have varying needs due to a disability or medical condition and you need more information, please contact us. We welcome your suggestions and will work with you to meet your needs.


Parks Prescott Park Located on Daniel Webster Highway, Route 3 N. Lower Prescott Park: Tot lot playground, volleyball court, basketball court, baseball diamond, softball fields, batting cage, iceskating rink and skate park. Upper Prescott Park: tennis courts, soccer fields, baseball diamond, walking loop .43miles/ lap. Public restrooms are available at both Upper and Lower Prescott Park. Parking for upper park located at ILES and ILHS. Park can be accessed by the North and South trails.

Swasey Park Located on High Street off Main Street. Peaceful 7-acre wooded park, waterfront on the Waukewan Canal, picnic area, and great place to explore nature. No public restrooms available.

Childs Park Located in Meredith Center. Playing field, basketball court, tot lot playground, and ice skating rink. Portable restroom is available.

Hesky Park Located by Meredith Bay, Daniel Webster Highway, Route 3. Site of many concerts and special events; waterfront park, public docks, and boat launch. Offers views of Lake Winnipesaukee. No public restrooms available.

Scenic Park/ Clough Park Located on Meredith Bay on Route 25 and Pleasant Street. Waterfront parks provide walkways, picnic areas, and breathtaking views. No public restrooms available.

Waukewan Highlands Community Park Located off Parade Road, Route 106. 190 acre managed forest ,3 miles of trails maintained for hiking, jogging, mountain biking, snow shoeing, cross country skiing, and horseback riding. Also includes an interpretive trail. Hart’s Pond is the centerpiece of the area and once served as Meredith’s reservoir. Camping and motorized vehicles prohibited. Park closes at dusk. No public restrooms available.

Community Park Located on Main Street this intimate park is the home of many community wide special events, such as craft fairs, concerts, dances, and holiday events. The park is a great place to have lunch, take a break, or enjoy a special event. Public restrooms are available.

Circle Drive Park Located on Circle Drive across from the Meredith Community Center. This small 1 acre partially wooded park provides a peaceful setting for picnics. No public restrooms available.

Visit our six tennis courts Located at Upper Prescott Park Two courts are lit for evening use PRESCOTT PARK TENNIS COURT POLICIES • Courts are available on a first come, first served

basis. • Parks and Recreation sponsored activities, such as

tennis lessons, take precedence. • A schedule of above events / activities will be

posted. • Play is restricted to one hour per party, if there are

others waiting, as a courtesy. • Park closes at 10pm. • Skateboards, bikes, roller blades are not permitted

on courts. • Players are responsible for picking up their litter

and keeping the courts clean.

TENNIS COURTS CLOSE FOR THE SEASON ON NOVEMBER 1. Parking: Parking for individuals with disabilities available at the courts. All others need to park at the Lower Prescott Park Parking Lot or at the Elementary School Parking Lot and access the courts by the north and south trails. Please call the Recreation Department for specific parking requests.

COED T-BALL Players will be instructed in basic baseball/softball rules and fundamentals, which will then be applied during controlled game situations. Emphasis will be placed on skill development, sportsmanship, and having fun! This program relies on volunteer coaches. Space is limited by the number of volunteer coaches. If you would like to volunteer please call Assistant Parks and Recreation Director Rick Desharnais at 279-8197. No experience necessary. Ages: Grade K-2 Schedule: Grade K (& Children currently 5yrs) Mondays & Weds May 4 – June 1 (Does not meet on May 25) Grades 1 and 2 Tuesdays and Thursdays May 5 - May 28 Time: 4:15-5:00 Location: Upper Prescott Park Field D Fee: $15/Resident $30/Non-Resident Registration Deadline: April 18

GREETINGS FROM THE EASTER BUNNY If you would like to receive a letter from the Easter Bunny simply complete the Meredith Parks and Recreation registration form (located on the back of this brochure) and return it with a self addressed stamped envelope, and we will make sure the Easter Bunny receives it. You will receive a letter of invitation to our annual Easter Egg Hunt, pictures to color, and a few fun surprises!

Ages: Pre-School to Gr. 3 from Meredith Fee: No Fee! Registration: Please provide a self addressed stamped envelope with your registration form.

THEATRE CAMP Theatre camp will be led by experienced New Hampshire theatre company, Children’s Stage Adventures, whose mission is “Encouraging children to strive for excellence through teamwork in a live theatre experience”. Resident Registration: Open Non-Resident Registration: Begins July 21 Ages: Students who have completed grades K-8 Dates: August 24-28 Time: 8:30am-3:30pm Location: Meredith Community Center Resident Fee: $100.00/week Non-Resident: $120.00/week Registration Deadline: Open until full. Space is limited.

RED SOX TRIP Join us for Fenway excitement. This year the Parks and Recreation Department will be traveling to two Red Sox games. Pick your game and sign the family up now. Tickets go FAST!!! Meredith Residents Only Ages: All (Under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.) Date: Wednesday, August 12 Red Sox vs. Detroit Tigers 3:00pm departure 7:05 game time. Fee: $120/Resident (Includes game ticket and coach bus transportation) Meals/Snacks: Please bring your own or purchase on site. Registration Deadline: Until Sold Out Note: Separate Registration form required for each adult participant.

ADULT COED SOFTBALL LEAGUE The Meredith Parks and Recreation Department is sponsoring another season of adult coed softball. We are encouraging local organizations, businesses, or just a group of friends to come together and enter a team in our league. Games will be held on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings starting June 22 through the end of August. A league informational meeting will be held on Tuesday June 2 at 6:00pm in meeting room A at the Meredith Community Center. All teams must have a representative present at this meeting. For complete registration details please stop by or call the Meredith Parks Recreation Department at One Circle Dr. 279-8197. Number of teams is limited!

AMERICAN RED CROSS BABYSITTING COURSE Participants will receive professional Red Cross instruction on many different aspects of the babysitter’s responsibility. Participants will learn characteristics of children, games, activities, basic care, safety, and first aid. Please pack a snack and a lunch. Ages: Must be 11 at the start of class (No exceptions) Dates: Saturday March 14 Time: 9:00am-4:00pm Location: Meredith Community Center Resident: $40.00 Non-resident Fee: $45.00

GLENN HART MEMORIAL SKATE PARK The tentative opening date for the skate park is scheduled for Friday April 24. The opening of the park is weather and maintenance dependant. Be sure to check out our summer brochure for information on special events and programs happening at the skate park this season. The following programs on this page are not administered by the Meredith Parks and Recreation Department. However in a combined effort with local organizations we are trying to increase the community’s awareness to these recreational opportunities.


Babe Ruth Baseball League 13-15 year’s olds (born between 4/30/93 and 4/30/96) Season runs from Memorial Day to July 4. Registration fee is $85, deadline is April 1.
