CANCELLATIONS/REFUNDS

R E G I S T R A T I O N

The Recreation Department reserves the right to cancel any class due to insufficient registration. If cancellation is necessary, anyone already registered will be informed and a full refund shall be automatically issued and mailed to your residence. If a written request is made to the Recreation Department before the class starts, a refund less 25% handling charge will be issued. After a class begins, refunds will be allowed only with a doctor’s statement of the participant’s incapacitating illness or injury. A written request for the refund must be accompanied by the doctor’s statement. In this situation there will also be a 25% handling charge to process the refund. Any facility rental cancellations will also be charged a 25% handling fee.

REGISTRATION RULES AND REGULATIONS •

Peachtree City residents may register for classes all three months (December, January & February) starting the 15th of November. Fayette County and Out of County residents may register beginning on the 20th of November.

OUT OF COUNTY REGISTRATION • Any patron that resides “outside” of Fayette County is considered “Out of County” also known as a “Non-Resident” and an additional surcharge will be applied. FEES AND PAYMENTS • Fees must be paid PRIOR to the first class of each session. •

A $5.00 late fee will be assessed to people not registered before the first class.

Registration will close and instructors cannot accept students after the second class of the session.

SENIOR DISCOUNT • Some classes offered only for seniors (65 years or older) already reflect a discounted senior price and will be noted in the class description.

Parks and Recreation Volunteer Program The Peachtree City Parks & Recreation Department is seeking residents who would like to volunteer their time to assist our staff with special events throughout the year. Some of our volunteers have already enjoyed working events, such as, Touch-a-Truck, Father/ Daughter Valentine Dance, Shakerag Arts & Crafts Festival, Hometown Holiday, Memorial Day Ceremony, 4th of July Parade and Fireworks, just to name a few. We will offer our guest 55 and over the chance to enjoy the small heated pool Monday, Wednesday and Friday 8 am to 9 am. The pool will be closed to the general public during this hour. We encourage all seniors to take advantage of the peacefulness and serenity of this time. The pools will be closed March 21st through April 3rd for air structure disassembly, but the water temperature will be controlled.

Anyone entering the pool area must check-in at the lifeguard desk. No running, pushing, shoving, or horse playing. No smoking, chewing tobacco or gum in pool area. No flotation devices, mask, fins, or snorkels. No recreational balls in pool. No refunds due to inclement weather. Rain Checks given (good for 2 weeks). Nothing made of glass allowed in pool or pool area. Swimsuits required: No cut-offs, t-shirts, or street clothes. Children not potty trained must wear water/swim diapers. Children under 12 must be with an adult. Parents are responsible for children in the pool. Large groups and camps must adhere to 1 adults for every 3 children under 12 for those swimming. Season passes must be presented upon arrival. Only people with season passes may leave and re-enter pool. Report all accidents to the pool manager. All staff (PTC Rec. or USA Pool) has the right and responsibility to eject anyone from the pool and/or facility for misconduct in the pool.

Or you may reach her at priscillausapools@hotmail.com. • GROUP LESSONS USA Pools is proud to offer a fun and exciting swim lesson program at the Kedron Fieldhouse and Aquatic Center. The lessons consist of 8, 30-minute classes on Monday & Wednesday or Tuesday & Thursday during the winter. There are 5 to 8 students in each class. It is important for the participant to be familiar with skill levels (see next page) in order to choose the most appropriate level for their age and ability. Adult classes are taught on an individual basis. Weekday afternoon and evening classes are available to offer a varying class schedule. If you have any questions or concerns about lessons, you may talk to the Aquatic Director, Priscilla Peak by calling USA Pools at (770) 631-8552. Cost for each 8-class session: $50.00 for residents of Fayette County $60.00 for non-residents Remember: Sign up early. Classes are filled on a first-come/first-served basis and fill quickly. Please do not wait until the last minute to register as preferred times may not be available. Refunds are given ONLY if a written request is received by the Thursday before your class begins. NO refunds will be given after a class begins. Checks or credit cards (VISA, MasterCard) are accepted. Sorry—USA Pools no longer accepts cash. In the event Kedron Fieldhouse and Aquatic Center or USA Pools cancels a class due to rain or contamination, a make-up class will be held on Friday of the same week at the same time and place. If a second class must be cancelled, a make-up class will be held the following Friday at the same time and place. If more than 2 classes are cancelled, you will be contacted with appropriate make-up information. If you are unable to attend a make-up class, you will NOT receive a partial refund. INDIVIDUAL LESSONS USA Pools now offers private lessons. The lessons will be one on one and offered at a time convenient to the student and the instructor. The price for one half-hour lesson is $20 for Fayette County residents and $25 for non-residents. You must sign up for at least three half-hour lessons. LIFEGUARD TRAINING—American Red Cross This is a professional level rescuer course with physical skill requirements. Students must meet pre-requisites to participate in this course. Students will learn lifesaving skills, First Aid, and CPR for the Professional Rescuer in this class. Class Schedules are as follows: Class 1—March 12th, 13th, 19th & 20th Class 2—April 4th, 5th & 6th (Spring Break) Class 3– May 7th, 8th, 14th & 15th •

• CPR FOR THE PROFESSIONAL RESCUER REVIEW This course is a review of all the skills and knowledge taught in the C-pro course. Students must bring their own book and pocket mask and possess current certification in C-pro to take the course. This class must be reviewed yearly to keep certifications current. •

Acrylic & Silk Painting for Students Location: Kedron Fieldhouse, Room 3 Ages: 8 - 14 Wednesday Time: 4 pm - 6 pm Instructor: Stephen Kross This class will include three exciting art projects. Students will learn the technique of painting on a fabric based silk. Projects will include a silk painting of either a fish or other animal of their choice. A second project will be a painted silk lantern, which students will be able to proudly display once completed. The third project will be an acrylic painting of the student’s choice of design on a studio grade 12 x 14 canvas board in which students will learn about mixing colors and the application of acrylic paints.
