USING THE INSIGHT OF PSYCHOLOGY TO EXCITE YOU ABOUT TEACHING THEORY OF KNOWLEDGE WEEKEND COURSES FOR TOK and NON-TOK TEACHERS We’re excited about the way Theory of Knowledge challenges our certainty about the world! We want to transfer and reignite that excitement amongst teacher colleagues and their students. Sometimes the focus on exams, standards, attainment and terminology takes away the thrill of learning a subject that has the capacity to stretch and enthral us. We aim to help you inject your lessons with excitement and give you ideas to have you interacting and collaborating with your students in building that excitement and understanding in class. Our sessions provide teachers with a relaxed opportunity to focus on how this fascinating subject, part of the IB Core, is relevant to – and can be informed by – their own subject discipline. We provide you with a selection of ideas based on tried and tested activities and materials using an Alice in Wonderland theme to underline how TOK highlights many different versions of reality. We also hope that these sessions demonstrate our commitment to the notion that, through imaginative and creative delivery of learning, we are not only able to inspire students to want to learn and achieve, but we are also able to instil in them greater selfconfidence and enhanced self-esteem.
