Business Information for Education Decision Makers

Media Information Investment in Education is a long term economic policy In 2018, the UK will spend almost £90bn on education, as part of the government’s long-term economic policy on investment in areas which can make a real difference to future employment prospects. An additional £320m funding has been allocated to build 110 new free schools, which is expected to create 70,000 new school places. This is in addition to the government’s commitment of 500 new free schools by 2020. Furthermore, £216m has also been allocated to help rebuild and refurbish existing schools over the next three years. This takes the total sum to over £10 billion. The government will invest £406m in maths and technical education, and will reward schools and colleges who support their students to study maths by giving them £600 for every extra pupil who decides to take Maths or Further Maths A levels or Core Maths. Media Information Business Information for Education Decision Makers With an increase in free schools and greater independence through the Academies programme, as well as a demand to create more school places, opportunities that exist for forward thinking private sector suppliers to enter the market will also increase. Published since 1995, Education Business magazine provides a link between those that supply schools and those that procure products and services on their behalf.
