Our Victorian first home owners will save money in stamp duty as the state government makes good in its promise to reduce the stamp duty 20% on properties valued less than $600,000 from the 1st July. Although this brings some relief I believe that governments should abolish stamp duty all together and stop looking at the property industry to make up its shortfall in inefficient budgeting.
