We will post a picture up on face book and places to make the member feel special and give them 20 hours for being the member of the month! Each two months the points clear up so it gives others the opportunity to catch up as well as become the member of the month. If members tied for the points, a tiebreaker can be a quiz on Key Club. Also, at the end of the year, the person who wins the most amount of member of the month will receive a surprise prize.

This year, the NJ District decided to change up the fundraising aspect of our District Project. No longer fundraising for Children’s Specialized Hospital, our District is now fundraising for The Eliminate Project. With The Eliminate Project, Kiwanis International and UNICEF have teamed up to rid the world of maternal and neonatal tetanus. Neonatal tetanus kills one baby every nine minutes, that’s nearly 60,000 newborns a year. The effects on the victims of maternal and neonatal tetanus are excruciatingly painful, while the effect is has on loved ones of the victims is almost just as bad. To eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus from the Earth, 129 million mothers and babies must be immunized. To cover the cost of vaccines, syringes, etc, the Kiwanis Family and UNICEF will need to raise $110 million – and we’re planning on doing so by 2015. The New Jersey District’s fundraising goal for the year is $79,180.38. Just like many other goals we have in our District, they numbers represent information pertaining to The Eliminate Project. 7 - The 7 days a week commitment the NJ District has to Eliminate. 9 – MNT kills 1 baby every 9 minutes. 180 - $1.80 is all it takes to buy the three-dose vaccine. 38 – The number of countries around the world when we started this project that were affected by MNT. With your help this service year, the NJ District can reach their fundraising goal of $79,180.38 for The Eliminate Project. Together, we can save the world – one baby at a time. HOW CAN YOU HELP? Fundraise! Start by purchasing an ELIMINATE hands for only $1 and writing your names on the bottom. Hang your hand up in a public place to show your support for the elimination of MNT, as well as to spread awareness to your peers.
