FOLK NEW RELEASE - 02/04/2012 Seth Lakeman – Tales from the Barrel House HNRCD01
HONOUR OAK RECORDS
***Digital download distributed by Proper***
NEW CD + DVD PACKAGE FROM MERCURY PRIZEWINNER Gritty folk singer-songwriter and virtuoso fiddler Seth Lakeman could not have dug deeper into his roots for his 6th album, "Tales from the Barrel House." In his boldest musical statement yet, Seth, has not only written the songs, but played everything, produced and mixed the album. His bow-shredding violin riffs are there, together with his driving tenor guitar rhythms. But it's the primitive new sounds he's conjured up that give this album it's atmospheric vibe - loads of what Seth calls "dirty viola," banjo, bouzouki, a booming bass heartbeat from an old Salvation Army drum he rescued from a junkshop, and a jangling array of percussion made up from bits of old iron or discarded tools found down the mine and around the Morwellham workshops. This album is like the granite bedrock of Seth's West Country stamping ground solid, hard and uncompromising. FOLK NEW RELEASE - 09/04/2012 Trembling Bells Feat. Bonnie Price Billy – The Marble Downs HJRCD64 HJRLP64
HONEST JON'S RECORDS HONEST JON'S RECORDS
Just four years after their debut album Carbeth, Trembling Bells are amassing a formidable body of work at a startling velocity. Just twelve months after the release of their critically acclaimed third album The Constant Pageant, the Glasgow quartet return to share the billing with a similarly restless creative spirit. A few thousand miles separate Will Oldham and Trembling Bells’ drummer and principal songwriter Alex Neilson, but their stories intersect as far back as 2005, when the young Leeds-raised Neilson found himself playing drums on Alasdair Roberts’ No Earthly Man, with Oldham producing. The knowledge that Oldham and Blackwall would be sharing centre-stage on The Marble Downs gave Neilson extra impetus to flex his songwriting muscles. I Can Tell You’re Leaving finds both vocalists on irresistible form, dissecting their dying relationship with no heed to the other’s feelings. “You treat me like a child,” sings Oldham. “I need a man,” she responds, barely catching breath. “Now like Merle Haggard, you’ll see the fighting side of me,” he later promises. “I guess that’s one of the lighter moments on the album,” ponders Neilson, “I was trying to get a Planet Waves-era Bob Dylan feel there, with the piano and walking bassline.” What pleases Alex Neilson when he listens back is “a sense of a common vocabulary and identity being forged.” If, by that, he means that there isn’t another band on the planet that quite sounds like Trembling Bells, it would be hard to disagree. The evidence is right here.

PARLOUR DOOR MUSIC
*Digital download distributed by Proper*
Love Songs: A Time You May Embrace' is the next episode in the musical life of the remarkable Krystle Warren following on from the much admired 'Circles' release. Krystle Warren's second album is the fruit of an exhilarating 13 day recording session in Brooklyn , live (the way her heroes and sheroes did it) by a total of 28 musicians including Krystle's regular crew, The Faculty, alongside choirs, horn and string sections. Krystle wrote the songs, fired up the players and produced the whole jambalaya. She integrates ragtime and waltz time; evokes Dusty and Krystle-ises William Blake; rubs up against Broadway musical stylings as well as leaving lots of space for songs featuring only her glorious voice alongside acoustic guitar. Krystle has shared international stages with Norah Jones, Joan As Police Woman, Nick Cave and Kylie Minogue. She will be touring with Rufus Wainwright on his 2012 world tour. Two degrees in bebop, a PhD in swing. She's a master of rhythm, she's a rock 'n' roll Queen. 'Warren's talents are extraordinary. She has an octave-hopping voice that glides between languid and urgent, and music that hovers between funk, folk and jazz, between Jeff Buckley and Nina Simone ….. she's the real deal.' FOLK NEW RELEASE - 12/03/2012 Trembling Bells, Bonnie "prince" Billy, Muldoon's Picnic - The Duchess EP HJP67
HONEST JON'S RECORDS
Ahead of a new album, The Marble Downs, recorded with Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy, Glasgow’s Trembling Bells returns with an eight-song vinyl-only EP. Entirely exclusive music, unique to this release, with a lovely silk-screened sleeve, the Duchess EP is effectively divided into two halves. The first is comprised of four songs from The Marble Downs sessions, with Will Oldham duetting with Trembling Bells singer Lavinia Blackwall.Anyone listening to the songs that comprise the other side of the Duchess EP would be forgiven for thinking they were newly unearthed trad. arrs. In fact, their genesis dates back to Neilson's chance encounter with vocal quintet Muldoon’s Picnic, at an open mic evening in Glasgow. Inspired by what he heard, Neilson “very quickly” wrote a number of songs, including those performed here by Muldoon’s Picnic, together with Alex and Lavinia.

FOLK NEW RELEASE - 02/04/2012 BettySoo & Doug Cox – Across The Borderline: More Lies CSCCD1082
CONTINENTAL SONG CIT
Change is good. Sometimes, you just need a little shake-up to get things to how they always ought to have been. With Heat Sin Water Skin, BettySoo adds some welcome edge and grit to the heartbreaker ballads and bell-pure vocals she's come to be known for. Teamed with seasoned producer Gurf Morlix (Lucinda Williams, Mary Gauthier, Slaid Cleaves), BettySoo has made a record worth sitting up and paying attention to. Her vocals are striking, the players strong, the sound gripping, and the lyrics compelling. Joining her on Heat Sin Water Skin are Todd Wilson on organ, Gene Elders on fiddle, and Dave Terry on drums. BettySoo and Gurf handled the guitar and vocal parts themselves. As for genre, she’s still nestled in the folk-rock world, but she is bringing something new to her listeners. “There’s a little gospel, some straight-ahead folk, a bit of twang, and maybe even a familiar oldie with a new twist. Be ready for a surprise.”

FOLK NEW RELEASE - 09/04/2012 State Of The Union - State Of The Union REVEAL005CDX
*Digital download distributed by Proper*
Brand New Album From Boo Hewerdine & Brooks Williams New Duo State Of The Union. Features Their Cover Of Pet Shop Boys "Rent" & More In the grand tradition of 'The Special Relationship', State Of The Union combines the talents of American Blues guitarist Brooks Williams and cult English songwriting legend Boo Hewerdine. Tapping into a multitude of influences, from Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash to Blind Lemon Jefferson, the wide open Fenlands and the frenetic buzz of London, State Of The Union is a masterclass in songwriting and understated production. When Williams was called in at the eleventh hour to replace the billed Special Guests at Boo's annual Ely Christmas charity concert due to the bad weather of 2010, the seeds for State Of The Union were sown. The chemistry between the duo was undeniable as a torrent of creativity was unleashed over the summer in Boo's living room. Making rough demos on their iPhones, the decision was made to record the songs proper at the 3Kyoti Studio in Glasgow with Mark Freegard (Pete Townshend, Eddi Reader, Del Amitri). A week was booked, but just as the songs had flowed so freely, the pair cut the entire album in a mere one and half days, recording the songs in the order they appear on the album. This debut recording is intimate and captivating, like a concert delivered in your living room, just two talented friends, two guitars and a handful of great songs. WORLD MUSIC NEW RELEASE - 09/04/2012 Sierra Leone's Refugee All Stars – Radio Salone CMBCD23
The new album fr om Sierra Leone’s Refugee All Stars was recorded in New York City and produced by Victor Axelrod, aka Ticklah, a founding member of Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings, Antibalas Afrobeat Orchestra and the Easy Star All Stars.Ticklah also recorded and performed with Amy Winehouse on her GRAMMY-winning Back to Black album. Radio Salone has a decidedly retro approach. Recorded entirely on vintage analog gear, the album is reminiscent of the classic funky 70s African sound popular with vinyl collectors and reissue labels. Having persevered through the horrors of the Sierra Leonean civil war, band leader Reuben Koroma and the group continue to musically evolve in exciting ways, well past their jam sessions in the Guinean refugee camps and the rawness of their first recordings in their native capital of Freetown. The songs are infused with intricate dub elements not found in their earlier material and interludes are featured as part of the album flow for the first time. While the band initially gained fame through the power of their story and message, Sierra Leone’s Refugee All Stars have since become one of Africa’s most active touring bands, and the years of experience are reflected in the virtuosity of their performance on Radio Salone. The likes of Paul McCartney, Keith Richards, Joe Perry, Ice Cube and Angelina Jolie have sung their praises. From the ashes of war, Sierra Leone’s Refugee All Stars have risen like a phoenix to become one of the most lauded African bands in the world.

A product of the recent renaissance in Scottish folk music, Treacherous Orchestra is the ultimate eleven‐piece, pan‐Scottish outfit (with two members from Ireland). It’s an aggregation that came together in the musical melting pot that is Glasgow, a location where the individual musicians first developed a strong affinity for each others playing. Every time this specific crowd of instrumentalists got together, musical sparks would fly. This empathy, and their passion for high‐energy, innovative and evolving styles of playing, comes to fruition in the exuberant sounds produced on their debut album ’Origins’. Each member of the band brings a strong individual sound and instrumental style to this powerful blending of the old with the new. In addition, many of the group are also gifted composers, producers and engineers in their own right and it is these cumulative talents that set the band apart in terms of forging their own unique interpretation of Scottish music. ‘Origins’ was recorded in several studios throughout Scotland (in the Highlands, Glasgow and Lanarkshire), produced jointly by three members of the band and features 90% self‐penned material that has evolved organically with the growth of the band. ’Origins’ is the culmination of many years of playing, learning and having fun. th

DANCE NEW RELEASE - 27/02/2012 Various Artists - Shangaan Shake HJRCD58
HONEST JON'S RECORDS
A few years ago, Honest Jon’s offered up a set of homages — entitled Lagos Shake — to the great Afrobeat architect Tony Allen, using his own recordings and compositions as its starting point. Now, in a captivating series of twelves running throughout last year and into 2012, the Shangaan Electro tracks have been similarly fantasized — rather than just flatly remixed — by some of the contemporary scene’s most inspired artists and producers, from Detroit to London, Berlin to Bristol. Kicking off a prodigiously active year for the Honest Jon’s label, the double CD Shangaan Shake collects these new versions, presenting a cross section of the most vital moods and grooves currently at large in underground dance music. Fresh from the label’s recent Chop Up live revue, Detroit techno alchemist Theo Parrish throws in a hypnotic, thirteen minute, carnivalesque head scrambler, multilayered with synths, galloping drums and clattering percussion. Trailering his brand new album for HJ this spring, the inimitable Actress ramps proceedings as up and out as can be without jettisoning the dancefloor completely. Elsewhere, Anthony Shake Shakir’s Motor City stomper — a favourite with Gilles Peterson on his BBC Radio 1 show — is this pioneer’s most impactful work of late, hard hitting and reckless in all the right places; characteristically, Mark Ernestus from Rhythm & Sound is swingeingly original and tersely dubwise; and amongst the set’s wildcards, the futuristic pop duo Hype Williams turns out a mesmerizing tribute, lagging somewhere ages behind the party people, achingly soulful and lost. Nothing in modern dance is more attuned to Shangaan musical sensibility than Chicago juke and footwork — and celebrated originators Rashad, Spinn and Boo lock into its madness with a lethal, frantic pair of reworks, true to the hyper 8208;energy and raw, unhinged power of the source material. From the coiled forensics of Peverelist, though, via the deep, minimal funk of Villalobos and Loderbauer, to the carefree drive of Oni Ayhun — each and every one of these Shangaan Shake reimaginings sparks from genuine, far 8208;fetched inspiration into wildly diverse and brilliant new trajectories.

ROCK / POP AS SEEN ON TV Gilbert O´Sullivan – Gilbertville HYP11275
Gilbert O’Sullivan has accumulated no less than fourteen top-forty hits, including “Clair”, “Alone Again (Naturally)”, “Get Down” and “Nothing Rhymed”, with number one singles on both sides of the Atlantic, as well as four top-five UK albums. Both "Clair" and "Get Down" were number one hit singles in Britain, and additionally, the album "Back To Front" topped the UK chart, emulating the success of the two million seller "Alone Again (Naturally)", a six week US chart-topper. Since then, he recorded about eleven albums, including the UK Top 20 single, "What's In A Kiss?" and toured extensively in Europe and Japan. Alexa Woodward – It's A Good Life Honey, If You Don't Grow Weary CSCCD1081
CONTINENTAL SONG CIT
A rich album full of harmonies, banjo, ukulele, upright bass, imagination, and lovely, haunting songs “It’s a Good Life, Honey, If You Don’t Grow Weary, named for a pet phrase of Woodward’s great grandmother, has all the maturity that it should for a third album, but none of the pretentiousness that seems to come with being a rising folk sensation. Woodward’s songs have made their way into the soundtrack of Twilight in Forks, National Geographic's Departures, MTV's Life with Liz and promos for Adult Swim shows, but the music doesn’t feel affected by this wave of recognition. It’s genuine, confident and full of soul. Most of that soul comes from Woodward’s voice. You can almost imagine her sharing a stage with Joan Baez or Joni Mitchell at some politically-tinged, flowery rally in the midst of the Summer of Love. The magic in Weary builds to a crescendo when Woodward and her backing vocalists take their voices up into the stratosphere of songs like “Darkest Days” and “Pillar of Salt.” The vocals swim along through the verses, and as the song builds they crash like swells of tide on rocks. The result is an album that’s part folk, part bluegrass, part gospel, and all gorgeous. Experiencing Alexa Woodward is like plunging down into an imagined world where everything is green and wondrous and glistening with discovery. It’s a new place, and it needs further exploring.” -Matthew Jackson, TMZ “Woodward’s latest offering It's A Good Life, Honey If You Don't Grow Weary (available online in March) is a joy to listen to. -Michael Berick, No Depression

FOLK NEW RELEASE - 02/04/2012 Delyth Jenkins - Llais SPCD1015S
STEAM PIE RECORDS
This album features original music for Under Milk Wood, as well as traditional Welsh melodies. ‘Llais’ means ‘voice’. The harp is my voice. In Welsh, you do not ‘play’ the harp. You ‘sing’ the harp (canu’r delyn). The harp is my voice. In choosing the name for this album, I was also thinking of the ‘Voice’ in Under Milk Wood that narrates the play, and reveals the lives of the inhabitants of Llareggub through the course of that ‘one Spring day.’ This album includes extracts from Under Milk Wood and some of the original music that I wrote for a production of the play by Fluellen Theatre Company. Swansea legend Kevin Johns recites Rev. Eli Jenkins’s Sunset Poem, and Julie Murphy (‘a gorgeously soulful singer’) captures the very essence of Polly Garter in her song ‘Oh Tom Dick and Harry’. Also included is a theme I wrote for a production of The Doctor and the Devils, one of Dylan Thomas’s film scripts, and original music for ‘Fear no more the Heat o’ th’ sun’, the famous elegy to Fidele from William Shakespeare’s Cymbeline. In addition to music inspired my work in theatre, there are also my interpretations of Welsh traditional melodies, such as Trefforest Waltz which I develop with some variations in the minor key.
Tracks: Llais 1 / Trefforest Waltz / Llais 1a / The Doctor & The Devils / Berwyn / Bryniau 'Werddon / Llais 2 / Fear No More The Heat Of The Sun / Taith Gariad / The Beginning / Cherry Owen's Jig / Johnnie Crack & Flossie Snail / Polly Garter's Song / Rev. Eli Jenkin's Sunset Poem / Capt. Cat Sails To See The Dead / This One Spring Day / Llais 2a
Jenny McCormick - Sweet Demon SPRCD05
*Digital download distributed by Proper* Singer songwriter Jenny McCormick pays homage to the romantic in all its madness, sadness and insane happiness on new album Sweet Demon. The mood of Sweet Demon is perhaps best encapsulated on album highlight, Love, with each the 10 tracks paying homage to the romantic in all its madness, sadness and insane happiness. From the twangy guitar and double bass of lonesome opener, The Cinder Rosary, to the swelling Hammond of the uplifting The Bough Won’t Break, Jenny McCormick’s new collection of songs some self-penned, some traditional – some joyous, others reflective - show her love of folklore and poetry more visibly than ever before. The self-penned Evie draws the listener into an intimate dream world, blending desire and reality with its references of windswept hills and star-crossed lovers whilst The Lancashire Fusilier is a bitter message from a new recruit to his ill-caring girlfriend. The album also contains a co-write between Jenny and Sam Genders, of celebrated folktronica band Tunng. For all its twisted imagery of monsters and chariots, Monocle, is a beautifully uplifting and romantic highlight. The musicians came together as a result of a couple of years spent collaborating in both 'The Memory Band' and the 'Woodbine & Ivy Band', including Jon Thorne on bass, John Ellis on keys and a guest appearance from the talented alt-country guitarist, James Walbourne.
Tracks: The Cinder Rosary / The Lancashire Fusilier / Love / Monocle / Dearest Dear / The Bough Won't Break / Evie / British Man of War / The Weary Wedding / Sweet Demon

JAZZ NEW RELEASE - 02/04/2012 Ángela Tröndle & Mosaik – Dedication To A City CRACK0012
CRACKED ANEGG RECORD
The Vocalist contrived contemplative chamber-jazz in which her voice likes to blend with the instrumental lines, a quality which is charming and individual.“ Music is like a mosaic: the interplay of differently coloured instruments creates a whole. Ángela Tröndle’s band Mosaik possesses very individual colours: Siegmar Brecher (reeds), Valentin Czihak (bass), Stefan Heckel (piano, melodica) and Philipp Kopmajer (drums). They frame Ángela Tröndle’s crystal-clear voice with extremely fine nuances. Dedication to a city – Dedication to New York“ Although the young native of Salzburg began her musical career on the violin and piano, her true instrument is her voice which she knows how to employ with consummate skill. But it’s not only as a singer but also as a composer of sophisticated yet uncomplicated sounding music that she proves her talent on the debut CD “Dedication to a city“. With the exception of one track (Track 9), only originally compositions are to be found on the CD. Some of the pieces do without lyrics entirely, she wrote some of the lyrics herself and, for three of the pieces, English translations by E. Snow of poems by R.M. Rilke, who she discovered whilst studying in New York in the summer of 2006, are used.
Tracks: Prolog / Joy / New York Impressions / Solitude / Leaving / Dedication To A City / Initial / Grobstadtwahnsinn / Gentle Rain / Now She Cares For You / From An April / Epilog
Ángela Tröndle & Mosaik Plus Strings – Eleven Electric Elephants CRACK0033
CRACKED ANEGG RECORD
Tröndle & Mosaik have received euphoric reviews for their debut album “Dedication to a City”, and since then, the young singer, composer and pianist has become an integral part of the Austrian jazz scene. Over the last two years, Ángela Tröndle & Mosaik have been touring through Austria supported by the promotion-programme New Austrian Sound of Music 2009/10; they also appeared at international festivals in Serbia, Greece, Italy, Poland, the Czech Republic and Portugal. Their new album “Eleven Electric Elephants” shows the bandleader more daring in her compositions as well as taking her work a step further by widening the tone colour of the quintet with a string quartet. A new world of sound is, therefore, opened to the listener. New sound conceptions that stem from Ángela Tröndle’s classical training as well as her true musical roots reach maturity with these recordings. The ensemble’s fantastic interpretation takes place somewhere between improvisation and composition and tells stories with the music that are full of humour and depth. Andy Manndorff presents his music with a top-class quartet: Clemens Wenger (piano, keyboards, live electronics) belongs to the small circle of independent-minded musicians from the young Austrian jazz scene. Stomu Takeishi (electric bass) is an old companion of Manndorff’s from New York and probably has the most awkward musical approach of all bass players. Ted Poor is in the meantime one of the most in demand drummers from the New York scene and cooperates with Stomu Takeishi on many projects.
Tracks: Shek / Es War Einmal … / In-Fluence / The Tie Of The Tiger / Alpenlied / Herbst / Balkonien / Vela / Kuriosum in 3 / Lonely Night / Eleven Electric Elephants

ROCK NEW RELEASE - 02/04/2012 Edward Rogers - Porcelian BOB121
BUCKETFULL OF BRAINS
*Digital download distributed by Proper* British ex-pat, NYC resident, presents crafted, baroque, art rock tunes with garage, new wave and chamberpop tinges recalling Zombies, Left Banke and the Kinks. New Yorker Rogers lived his first 12 years of his life in Birmingham, which seems to have lent wry humour to his music - specifically this wondrous piece of elegiac glam rock (The Biba Crowd). It's a kind of musical equivalent to Jonathan Coe's The Rotter's Club. -The Word Magazine ‘Porcelain works’ multiple sides of the fruitful ‘60s/’70s flowering of rock’s art pop culture, handling early ‘70s guitar rock curling “The Biba Crowd,” “Diamonds Amour,” and wry “Topping the World,” the James Williamson-Stooges-esque (yes!) “Separate Walls,” and the Dylan-meetsBadfinger “Love With the World” as fluently as baroque-stoked folk on “Nothing Too Clever” or the piano plucky “Link to the Chain.” Like loves The Left Banke, Kinks, and Zombies, Rogers realizes that the R in A&R (repertoire!) matters as much as groovy tunes. Rogers never disappoints. -The Big Takeover

It's not, and their fresh guitar and violin set-up adds a rare sparkle to traditional hues." Allan Yn Y Fan - Pwnco SPCD1016S
STEAM PIE RECORDS
PWNCO – A heady mix of exhilarating instrumentals, bewitching harmonies, horns, nyckleharpa, a nursery song, respectful of tradition whilst innovative – it‘s Allan Yn Y Fan’s 4th album. Allan Yn Y Fan once again bring a new slant to Welsh music, adding freshness, appeal and their own blend of quirky fun to new release “Pwnco”. The “battle of wits” of the title perfectly sums up the interplay between five talented multi-instrumentalists as they negotiate a heady assortment of upbeat dance tunes, interspersed with moments of contemplation and inspiration. While a strong Welsh flavour is retained with songs such as “Canu Cwnsela”, English lyrics are included in a shimmering version of old favourite “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” and the bi-lingual “Tra Bo Dau” (“Whilst There are Two”). Meriel Field's stunning lead vocals are complemented by those of other band members, notably a poignant rendition of John Stewart William’s poem “Dic Penderyn” and the ‘a capella’ “Dacw ‘Nghariad”. A brass section sneaks into “Quickstep Albania” and ceilidh meets the Blues Brothers for the “Miniwet Dinbych” set, while German nykleharpa virtuoso, Thomas Roth, joins a reworking of the haunting “Lle Arall” and a self-penned nautical set (Seasick Sailors / The Rough Crossing). “Pwnco” underpins the band’s diversity, where traditional offerings and their own compositions continue to enthral, amuse and entertain.
Tracks: Death In Ennis; The Audient / Canu Cwnsela; Pwnco / Miniwet Dinbych; The Leitrim Fancy Jig; The Growling Old Man & The Grumbling Old Woman / Lle Arall / Dacw 'Nghariad / Pibddawns Heol Y Felin; Y Bibddawns Ffansi / Dic Penderyn / Tra Bo Dau / Albanian Quickstep; Neidod Twm Bach / Arafu / Sea Sick Sailors; The Rough Crossing / Twinkle Twinkle

ROCK NEW RELEASE - 09/04/2012 Various Artists - Strong Love – Songs Of Gay Liberation 1972-81 CH70
Strong Love explores the first wave of openly gay songwriting, emerging after New York's Stonewall Riots kickstarted the modern gay rights movement in 1969. It took just a few years for the defiant chanting and interlocked arms of early 70s pride marches to reverberate onto record, and Strong Love begins with the earliest known example, 1972's A Gay Song by London hippie collective Everyone Involved. Across 15 tracks, the compilation takes in disarmingly personal folk, uplifting soul, outsider country and dark synth-rock. But tellingly, none of its songs could be considered well-known. New York's Steven Grossman released the first major label album by an openly gay artist in 1974, and Tom Robinson hit the UK Top 20 with the fiery Glad To Be Gay in 1978, but these are the exceptions. The coy ambivalence of Lou Reed and David Bowie was about as sexually adventurous as the 1970s music industry got, and most Strong Love artists released their own self-funded recordings in very limited numbers. Unlike their lesbian counterparts, who joined forces to create long-lasting record labels, strong distribution networks and considerable sales figures for artists such as Cris Williamson and Holly Near, gay male musicians in the 1970s existed largely in solitary bubbles. Which doesn't mean they didn't carve out niches of their own. Eccentric one man band Chris Robison played with the New York Dolls and Elephant's Memory, while LA glam seducer Smokey saw members of the Stooges and Quiet Riot pass through his backing band. Steven Grossman was covered by Twiggy and Scrumbly & Martin are justifiably infamous for their work with San Francisco drag hippies the Cockettes. Whether known or not, what the songs on Strong Love illustrate is the vision, talent and raw courage that drove 1970s songwriters to sacrifice popular careers for the sake of honesty and self-expression. Compiled by Chapter Music's Guy Blackman, with an evocative introduction from drummer RIchard Dworkin (who played with Blackberri and Buena Vista and is one of the few to have witnessed many Strong Love artists firsthand), the album is a powerful tribute to pioneering artists whose music has been neglected for too long.
