TORRE FORNELLO Prize Flurry Jewels 2012 Open contest for goldsmiths, jewels crafters, jewellery artists, designers for the crafting and exhibiting of a jewel inspired to wine-making and to the tales of wine in the picturesque frame of Arts Vineyard in Torre Fornello, Ziano Piacentino. Arts Vineyard is a cultural project based on several interpretations dedicated by Torre Fornello for a few years now; every year, artists are invited to experiment, compare and express their concepts within the hosting vineyard. Within Arts Vineyard, the Flurry Jewels Exhibit and the associated contest, goad the tales of wine as unique source of inspiration for unique jewels; in wine, as fruit of Piacenza grounds, we can find traces of history, discovering territory, taste and characters, experimenting feelings. Her we are, facing Malvasia & Gutturnio, highest expression of these hills. Authors, with their in- and outbound presence, have taken inspiration from the nuances of these three products of the Piacenza Hills, in order to create unique jewels and the jury will assign on the exhibit’s official opening a recognition to the two masterworks reputed to be the most interesting for originality and fidelity to the theme, with particular care to detail, crafting and wearability of a contemporary ornament. Flurry Jewels, as underlined by Eliana Negroni, AGC member in Emilia region, curator of the exhibit and catalogue, was born to experiment the possibility of catching all aspects of the contemporary jewel to be conceptual, aestethical, emotional, reflecting the public who will attend this event: careful, surprised, interested and more numerous.
